Despite this, McCarthy\u2064 (R-Calif.) encouraged that \u2062the\u200c focus \u200dbe shifted towards Garland, an official who\u2064 is \u2063often criticized \u2063by \u200cthe GOP.<\/p>\n<p>   \u2062 <\/p>\n<p>McCarthy first mentioned the\u200c move in a \u2062tweet \u200clast month highlighting \u200bthe\u2064 testimony of an IRS \u200dwhistleblower, who alleged\u2062 that the Hunter Biden\u200c investigation \u2062was mismanaged, \u200cclaiming \u200bit\u2063 could \u200cserve as\u2064 a \u201csignificant part of a\u200d larger impeachment\u2064 inquiry.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  \u200d \u200d <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u2063 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to get\u2063 to \u2062the facts, \u2063and that includes reconciling these clear disparities. \u200dU.S. \u200cAttorney\u2064 David \u2064Weiss must \u2062provide\u200d answers to the\u200b House Judiciary \u2062Committee,\u201d \u2063said\u200b House Speaker Kevin\u2063 McCarthy in\u200b a\u2062 tweet \u2064on Sunday. \u201cIf \u2063the whistleblowers\u2019 allegations are \u200dtrue, this \u2064will be\u2063 a \u2062significant part of a \u200clarger impeachment\u2063 inquiry into Merrick\u200d Garland\u2019s weaponization of\u2063 (the Department \u200bof\u2064 Justice).\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u200b   \u200c <\/p>\n<p>Not \u200call members of the \u2064House \u2064GOP \u2063are on board with McCarthy. Rep. Darrell Issa\u200b (R-Calif.) \u200csaid that it is up to\u200b the president to remove\u2064 those\u2062 who aren\u2019t \u200cfollowing \u200corders \u2062or carrying out\u200d their\u200b jobs,\u200b with congress\u200c stepping in \u200donly if \u200cthe \u2063president\u200b fails to do so.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  \u2062 \u200d \u2063<\/p>\n<p>Some Republicans \u2062who authored more\u2064 than \u200ba\u200d dozen\u2062 impeachment\u200d resolutions were surprised that the officials the documents targeted have \u200cnot \u200dtaken center\u2062 stage.<\/p>\n<p> \u200d \u200c  <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u2064 <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was one of the\u2063 original co-sponsors of \u2063the \u200dSecretary Blinken impeachment,\u201d\u200b Rep. Andy Harris\u2063 (R-Md.)\u200c said.\u200c \u201cWe \u2064ought\u2063 to take \u200dthat up first for\u2064 the incredibly, horribly done withdrawal \u200dfrom \u2063Afghanistan.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>  \u2063 \u2063 <\/p>\n<p>McCarhty doubled down\u200d on \u2063his stance \u200dagainst Garland \u2063last week \u200din a Fox News\u2062 op-ed.<\/p>\n<p>\u2064   \u200b <\/p>\n<blockquote \u200dclass=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWhen a prosecutor \u200dshields his \u2062boss\u2019s \u2062son \u200dfrom \u2063investigators,\u2063 it smells\u200d like \u2064a \u200ccover-up. Garland\u2019s\u2063 DOJ\u2064 did\u200c not\u200d aggressively follow \u200dthe \u2063money. Why? Are \u200bthey \u2064afraid \u200cwhere that trail ends?\u201d he\u200c said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u200d \u200d   \u200c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClearly, someone\u200c is not telling the truth, and\u2063 Congress has a duty to get answers,\u201d \u200bMcCarthy continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u200d    <\/p>\n<p>Rep. Jim\u200c Jordan (R-Ohio), chairman of the House\u2062 Judiciary Committee\u2062 backed McCarthy\u2019s \u200bidea,\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-gop-threaten-impeachment-of-attorney-general-garland\/\" title=\"House GOP threatens to impeach Attorney General Garland.\">offering \u2062stronger support<\/a> \u2062for targeting Garland rather \u2064than other\u200d Biden officials.<\/p>\n<p> \u2062  \u200d \u2062<\/p>\n<blockquote \u2063class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p> \u200c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think \u2062he\u2064 sees \u2064the \u2063facts now,\u201d Jordan\u2064 said \u200cof\u200b McCarthy. \u200c\u201cSo \u2064it\u2019s \u200bquickly \u200d[becoming] who are you going to\u2064 believe? \u2026\u200b I\u2019m\u200b with the\u200c speaker\u2064 on \u200dwe need to \u200cget to the facts. \u2063And \u200dif it warrants moving\u200b forward with an\u2062 inquiry \u2062we got to\u200b do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \u200d   \u200c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019ll be \u2063a decision that in the\u2064 end \u2064will be \u2063made \u2064by the entire \u200bconference,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u2062 <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u200b    <\/p>\n<p>Until \u2063McCarthy\u2019s \u2064comments regarding \u200bGarland, \u2064Mayorkas\u2062 seemed like the likeliest\u2062 target of a House GOP\u200b impeachment of\u200b a member\u200d of\u2062 Biden\u2019s \u2062Cabinet. Republicans \u200dhave pushed\u200d to \u2064impeach Garland\u2062 for\u2062 almost\u200b two\u200c years \u200bover \u200dhis\u200c policies at \u2064the\u2062 U.S.-Mexico Border.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>   \u2062 <\/p>\n<p>The conflict of \u200cinterest \u200bcould \u2063be \u2062a\u2063 struggle for \u200dMcCarthy and Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>   \u200d <\/p>\n<blockquote \u200bclass=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI think the chairman of \u2062Judiciary has \u2063a cat-herding\u2063 issue\u2064 that he\u2019s got to deal with, probably,\u201d said Rep.
