As a\u200b result\u200c of the \u200bchange \u2062in \u200bplans, \u2064IRS \u2064and\u2063 FBI criminal investigators never \u200cgot \u2064to interview \u200cHunter Biden \u2062as part of the investigation,\u201d \u2063he continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u200dJustice Department\u2019s\u200b efforts to cover up \u200cfor\u200d the \u2063Bidens reveals \u200da \u2062two-tiered\u200d system \u2063of justice that \u2063sickens the American people.\u2062 The\u200c Oversight Committee, along with \u2062the Judiciary Committee and Ways and Means Committee, will continue to seek \u2064the\u200c answers, transparency, and accountability that the \u200cAmerican people \u200bdemand \u2064and\u2063 deserve,\u201d\u2064 Comer said.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062statement \u2063noted \u2062that in \u200ban interview, the former FBI agent told\u2063 the committee that\u200d IRS\u2063 Supervisory Special\u200c Agent\u200c Gary \u2062Shapley and the former agent had \u200dplanned to interview <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/irs-whistleblowers-attorney-targets-washington-post-says-paper-will-accessory-hunter-biden-unless-comes-clean\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u200d rel=\"noopener\">multiple\u2063 witnesses<\/a>\u200d on Dec.\u200c 8, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>However, he said, that information \u200cwas leaked to\u200b the Secret Service and the transition\u2063 team \u2064of then-President-elect <a \u2064href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/republican-lawmakers-uncover-email-chain-shows-ultimate-purpose-hunter-bidens-burisma-role-report\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u200d rel=\"noopener\">Joe\u200d Biden<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was\u2064 not the original plan by\u200c the career agents, which frustrated their investigative\u2062 efforts because\u2063 people found out who didn\u2019t \u2063need to know,\u201d the\u200d statement \u2064said the former \u200cagent \u200ctold\u200d the committee.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of interviewing Hunter \u200dBiden, investigators \u201cwere notified they would not be \u2063allowed to \u200dapproach \u2064Hunter \u200dBiden\u2019s house \u200cand\u2064 instead would have to\u200d wait near his \u2064residence until Hunter Biden \u2063contacted them,\u201d the\u2064 statement said\u2062 that\u200b the \u200cformer\u200b agent\u2064 told the \u200dcommittee.<\/p>\n<p>The former FBI \u2062agent said this was a <a \u2064href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/2-irs-agents-just-became-hunter-bidens-worst-nightmare-never-seen-career\/\" target=\"_blank\" \u2063rel=\"noopener\">startling \u2062precedent<\/a> because he had never been told \u2062to wait\u2064 for the\u2063 subject\u200c of \u200can investigation\u200c to contact him.<\/p>\n<p>The statement noted \u200bthat due to the roadblocks put in their way, \u2062Hunter\u2062 Biden was never interviewed.<\/p>\n<blockquote \u2064class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"\u200c lang=\"en\">Let me get this straight:<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s DOJ targets \u200bTrump\u200b again the same \u2062week\u2063 he\u2019s\u200d up \u200din the polls\u200c &#038;\u200b an \u2063IRS whistleblower is\u200d testifying\u2062 that Biden\u2019s\u2063 DOJ\u200c obstructed an IRS investigation into Hunter.<\/p>\n<p>Another clear\u200c case of the\u200c weaponization of the\u200d DOJ against Biden\u2019s political opponent. <a\u200d href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/bfRo2LW9ey\">pic.twitter.com\/bfRo2LW9ey<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Steve Scalise \u2064(@SteveScalise) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SteveScalise\/status\/1681370618921353216?\">July\u2062 18,\u2064 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23856879\/shapley-transcript.pdf\" \u2062target=\"_blank\" \u2062rel=\"noopener\">previous testimony<\/a>, \u2063Shapley \u2064had indicated that\u200b plans for\u2062 interviewing\u2064 witnesses\u2062 on Dec. 8, 2020, were \u2063torpedoed.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cI get a phone call from\u2062 my Assistant Special\u200c Agent in\u200b Charge, \u200dGeorge Murphy,\u200d who tells me\u200b that FBI\u2063 headquarters notified Secret \u2063Service \u200dheadquarters\u2063 and the \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-red-wave-of-conservative-women-elected-to-congress\/\" title=\"The Red Wave of Conservative Women Elected to Congress\">transition team<\/a> \u2064that the \u2063day \u2064of \u2062action was occurring\u2064 the next\u2062 day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>He \u200csaid the notice involved\u2062 safety \u200cand \u201ctampering\u200b with\u200b witnesses,\u2063 right?
