\u200dCalifornia-based burger\u200b chain \u200bIn-N-Out has\u200d banned some\u200c employees\u200b from wearing masks unless\u2064 they present\u200c a\u200b medical\u2063 note from a\u2063 doctor, with \u2062the company\u2019s reasoning stating that \u200cit\u2064 prevents customers from \u200c\u201cseeing their smiles.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\"\u200d Twitter, the company said it had introduced new \u200cmeasures\u2062 in\u2062 an effort to show off the \u201cfacial features\u201d\u2062 of workers.<\/p>\n<p>   \u200d <\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 new employee guidelines will \u2063reportedly go into effect\u2063 as \u2063of\u2064 August 14<sup>th <\/sup>and will apply \u200bto \u200dIn-N-Out \u200blocations based in Arizona, Colorado,\u2063 Nevada, \u200bUtah,\u200d and Texas.<\/p>\n<p>\u2062 \u2064   <\/p>\n<p>The\u200b company\u2019s \u2062California \u2063locations, which make\u2064 up the majority\u2064 of \u2063their establishments, will \u200dallow\u2064 employees to\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-n-out-bans-employees-in-5-states-from-wearing-covid-19-masks\/\" title=\"In-N-Out prohibits COVID-19 mask use in 5 states.\">continue\u2063 wearing \u2064masks<\/a>, however, they\u2064 must wear an\u2064 N-95 mask\u2062 provided\u200c by the \u2063company,\u200d unless a \u200dmedical\u2063 note \u200callows\u200b them to\u2062 use \u200ca\u2062 different mask.\u2063 The new policies\u2062 were outlined \u2062in a \u200dset \u2062of\u2063 emails sent to employees last week.<\/p>\n<p> \u200c \u200b  \u200d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p> \u2062<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are \u2063introducing new\u200b mask \u2064guidelines that emphasize the \u2063importance\u200c of customer \u2063service and\u200d the ability to show\u2064 our Associates\u2019\u2064 smiles\u2062 and \u200bother\u2063 facial \u2064features while considering\u2064 the health\u200b and \u200cwell-being of \u200call \u200cindividuals,\u201d\u2064 the announcement said. \u200c\u201cWe \u2063believe this policy\u200b will also help promote clear\u2064 and effective \u200bfailure\u200c to\u200d comply with the \u2062new guidelines could lead to employee termination.<\/p>\n<p>   \u2063 \u2062<\/p>\n<p>Despite the \u200dcompany\u2019s \u2062claims that the \u200dguidelines are\u200c designed to\u2062 improve \u2064interactions between\u200d employees and\u2064 customers, In-N-Out has \u2062<a \u2062<\/p>\n<p>Amid \u2063the COVID-19 pandemic, a San\u200d Francisco In-N-Out \u2063chain \u2062was ordered\u2063 by officials to be closed in\u200b October 2021 \u2062after \u200bit failed\u2064 to comply with \u200ca \u200crequirement that ordered all chains to \u200cvalidate \u2063the vaccination\u2062 cards\u200d of\u2064 indoor \u200bcustomers.<\/p>\n<p> \u200b  \u2062 <\/p>\n<p>During these incidents, \u2064In-N-Out\u2019s Chief Legal and Business Officer \u2063Arnie Wensinger \u2063said in a statement, \u201cIt\u200c is \u200bunreasonable, invasive, and\u200b unsafe\u2064 to force our\u200b restaurant \u200cassociates to \u2062segregate\u200b customers \u2064into those who\u200c may be \u2063served\u200b and those\u2063 who\u2064 may not, whether based on\u2064 the
