However, \u2064the\u200d four Republicans who voted against the\u200b bill \u200d\u2014 \u2063Andy Biggs of Arizona, Ken Buck of Colorado, \u200dEli\u2062 Crane of Arizona,\u200b and Thomas Massie of \u200cKentucky\u2062 \u2014 \u200bare also\u2062 caucus\u2064 members.\u2062 Part of their opposition is related to the fact that\u200b the bill still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/news\/politics\/articles\/2023-07-14\/house-approves-hijacked-ndaa-as-democrats-denounce-conservative-social-policies\">includes<\/a> another $300 \u200cmillion\u200c in\u2064 security assistance for Ukraine. At present, total U.S. \u200dfinancial\u200c support to the\u2062 Zelensky regime since\u200d the outbreak of the war in\u200c February 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/06\/15\/us-sent-aid-ukraine-total\">amounts to<\/a> more\u2063 than $5.6 billion.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Republicans such\u200c as Reps. Ronny Jackson of\u2064 Texas, Matt Gaetz of Florida, and Scott Perry of \u2062Pennsylvania \u2062argued that\u200d the issues around abortion and transgenderism make no sense in terms \u2062of finances \u200bor\u2063 force \u200breadiness. The \u2063leftist \u200bresponse to what \u200dseems\u2063 like\u200c common sense \u2063for\u200d most of the country \u2014\u2064 and indeed, would \u200bhave\u200c been acknowledged\u200d as such by Democrats \u200ca <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-had-better-reject-democrats-ndaa-culture-war-if-they-want-any-praise\/\" title=\"Republicans must reject the Democrats' NDAA culture war to earn praise.\">mere \u206410 years ago\u200c \u2014\u200c reveals<\/a> the\u2062 unbridgeable ideological chasm\u200b that currently separates the two sides.<\/p>\n<p>For the left, the Republican Party\u2019s opposition to transgenderism,\u200c on-demand\u200c partial-birth abortion, \u200cand a racially woke military have become \u200bmore than the remnants \u200bof a backward \u2064worldview. They \u2064are now threats to national security.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.\u200c Jennifer McClellan, D-Va., <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/mccarthy-rolls-dice-on-defense-vote-as-culture-wars-split-house-1b8a638?mod=itp_wsj&#038;mod=djemITP_h\">declared<\/a>, \u200b\u201cExtreme\u200d MAGA Republicans have \u2064turned \u200cthe NDAA \u2064into yet another vehicle to wage their culture wars.\u201d Chrissy \u2062Houlahan, D-Penn., stated, \u201cAs someone \u2063who\u200d has worn the uniform, and has a uterus \u2014 \u2064unlike many\u200b opining on this subject \u2014 I\u2019m furious.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>These statements\u2062 helpfully \u200cclarify the actual contours of America\u2019s\u200d political landscape at present, and\u2062 thus illuminate exactly what\u200c is \u200cat\u2063 stake for those who \u200ccall themselves \u2063conservatives. As\u200c it\u200c currently stands, both\u200b sides view the other as\u200d extreme and antithetically opposed to their own \u200cposition. For those on the right, that \u200cwe are even debating the notion that \u200cthe \u200cmilitary \u2062should\u2063 fund abortion or \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/genital-mutilation-supporters-are-upset-that-bella-hadid-got-a-nose-job-at-14\/\" title=\"Genital Mutilation Supporters Are Upset That Bella Hadid Got A Nose Job At 14\">genital mutilation surgeries<\/a> for\u200d servicemembers\u2062 \u2014 \u2063let alone actively \u2063attempt to \u200binculcate them in the tenets of so-called \u200d\u201cdiversity, \u200bequity,\u200b and \u200dinclusion\u201d \u2014 is the\u2063 sign of a sick \u200band\u200b diseased \u2063body politic.\u200d Conversely, any attempt\u2062 to \u2062obstruct\u200b this ideological\u2062 march of history is for the left not simply \u2062reactionary but fundamentally \u2062anti-progressive and\u2064 therefore anti-human.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In this \u2062sense, McClellan\u2019s argument\u2064 regarding Republicans simply \u200c\u201cwaging their culture\u2064 wars\u201d is logically consistent given the first premises from which the left rationalizes \u2063its position. If history marches toward total world liberation, then not having the spread\u2063 of \u201chuman rights\u201d as\u2063 defined by \u2062the \u200bright to dignity \u2014 here understood to \u200dbe autonomous control over\u200c one\u2019s own identity and the subsequent\u200c mandate\u2064 for all\u200b to acknowledge that \u2063identity \u2014 is indeed irrational and \u2063wrong.\u2063 The right to define oneself must \u200dbe the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/indiana-republicans-pawned-social-conservatism-for-economic-growth-and-got-neither\/\" title=\"Indiana Republicans Pawned Social Conservatism For Economic Growth And Got Neither\">central organizing principle<\/a> of the \u2063American regime.<\/p>\n<p>The point\u2064 of faith in\u200d diversity as our greatest \u200bstrength allows those who have no conception of\u2064 combat\u200d to \u2062argue that \u2063less of it will \u200clogically\u200b weaken our\u200b fighting force. Likewise, \u200bfor\u2063 such individuals, a \u2063military that\u200d does \u200dnot undergo DEI struggle sessions will not have the \u200dproper consciousness \u200cto\u200c effectively carry out its mission.<\/p>\n<p>This is not a fringe position on the \u200bleft.\u200c Statements by National\u200c Security \u2064spokesman\u2064 John\u200b Kirby regarding\u2064 his disgust with the\u200d bill \u200dand President Joe Biden\u2019s inevitable \u200dveto illustrate as much.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very difficult \u200cto see \u200bthe president supporting \u200clegislation that would make it harder \u2062for\u200c Americans to \u200cserve \u2064in uniform and to\u200b not be able to do so \u200dwith dignity and not be\u200d able to do so with\u2063 the proper care that they\u200d need \u2014 both medical \u200band mental care,\u201d \u2063Kirby said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u200dassumption \u200bthat those \u200csuffering \u2062from gender\u200d dysphoria should even be \u2063allowed \u2064to\u200d serve in the nation\u2019s armed\u200d forces \u2014 something President Donald \u200dTrump\u200d <a \u2062href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/03\/31\/politics\/transgender-military-ban-policies\/index.html\">stood against<\/a> \u2014 is, for\u200c those on the \u200bright, false (or at\u200c least \u200dit \u2063should \u2064be).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very difficult to see \u2062that \u2063the president would ever, ever sign\u2062 legislation that would \u2064put our \u200btroops at \u2064greater risk or \u2064put\u2063 our readiness\u2062 at\u2063 risk,\u201d \u200bKirby continued. Putting our troops\u2064 at greater risk here equates to not \u2062providing total and unequivocal affirmation\u2063 of their self-actualized identity. Troop readiness \u200bostensibly means\u200d allowing servicewomen to \u2062get \u200cabortions,\u200c as child-rearing could\u2064 potentially\u200d get in\u200d the way of would-be\u200c mothers \u200cserving the interests\u200c of American \u2062foreign\u2062 policy.<\/p>\n<p>All this also helps explain\u200b the total commitment that those on the \u200dleft have \u200dto\u2062 support\u200c the\u200d government in Kiev \u200cin the fight against Moscow.\u200d Defeating \u200bbackwards Russia is\u2063 a triumph for leftism, and therefore a necessary step\u200b in guaranteeing the dignity\u200b Kirby\u2063 speaks of to every person \u2062across the\u200d world. Spreading \u201cfreedom\u201d \u2063(leftist liberation) and \u201cdemocracy\u201d (rule\u2064 by those \u200camenable \u200cto\u2064 enforcing such liberation) justifies\u200c the American military \u200din the\u2064 eyes of\u200d the left.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans\u200d also\u200b targeted other symbols of the current regime through \u2064their amendments\u2063 to the NDAA. No flying \u201cunauthorized flags\u201d \u2062(i.e., \u200dpride flags) on government properties to celebrate leftist shibboleth Pride Month? \u2062The\u200c left \u2062answers: The \u200crainbow\/BLM flag \u200drepresents who we are as a nation and should \u200dbe flapping in the wind in front of every U.S.\u2062 embassy, year-round.<\/p>\n<p>Stop\u2063 the Defense\u2063 Department from\u2062 sponsoring drag \u2062shows on military\u200b bases? \u2062We should be \u2064funding men provocatively dancing as\u200b women in every unenlightened hovel across the \u2064world,\u200b from\u200b Uruguay\u200b to Uganda (perhaps especially Uganda).<\/p>\n<p>The bill will\u200b likely face serious revisions in\u2063 the Democrat-controlled Senate, and Biden would certainly veto it as it currently\u2063 stands. The final NDAA will probably \u200btrade\u200b some small, inconsequential matter (like banning government-funded \u200ddrag at military installations) while enshrining the big stuff. There\u200c is \u200dno way the Senate or Biden \u200bwill go along \u200bwith the amendments on abortion\u2062 and \u200dtrans support.<\/p>\n<p>Still, should the House Republicans \u2063be \u2064quietly\u200c lauded for at least forcing through \u200ca few symbolic wins? Not\u2064 if they continue\u2063 to accept \u200dthe legitimacy of the current U.S.\u2062 regime without seriously \u2063pushing\u200c back on its deluded premises.<\/p>\n<p>Most will \u200dlikely fold on the \u200cimportant features in\u200b the\u200c current bill after \u2064the inevitable\u200d revisions \u200ccome back. The four Freedom\u200c Caucus\u2063 holdouts and their principled stand\u200c against leftist \u2062internationalism, which many of their fellow party \u200cmembers have \u200dimbibed, are \u2063effectively shifting\u2064 the Republican \u2062Party \u2064rightward. \u2063No\u2062 meaningful change will come about until \u200dthe rest \u2063of\u200b the \u2062party finds the guts to begin \u2063acting \u200din the\u200d same manner.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>House Republicans have effectively incorporated sensible measures in the National Defense Authorization Act to counter the progressive erosion of our institutions.
