And we want\u200d the information \u2063we\u2019ve asked \u200dfor \u200cmonths ago, and if\u200c they\u2064 don\u2019t\u2064 give it\u200d to us, we can \u2063move ahead with contempt \u200cif we need \u200bto,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/2021-tokyo-games-moving-forward-as-scheduled\/\" title=\"2021 Tokyo Games moving forward as scheduled\">chairman added<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>  \u2062<\/p>\n<p>There were reports on \u200bMonday \u200bthat\u200d cited anonymous sources\u2063 claiming\u200c Mr.\u200b Jordan would \u2064consider \u2063holding\u2064 Mr.\u200d Zuckerberg in contempt. Earlier this \u200dyear, \u200dMr. Zuckerberg\u2063 and other\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-jordan-considers-holding-mark-zuckerberg-in-contempt-of-congress\/\" title=\"Rep. In May, Mr.\u200c Jordan \u200bwrote\u200d in \u200ba letter that the information\u200c that\u2063 Meta provided to Republicans wasn\u2019t\u200c good enough and \u200bfailed\u200c to comply.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeta\u2019s rolling productions to date \u2063have \u2063not included \u2063material the Committee \u2062knows\u200b is, or\u200c has reason\u2063 to believe may be, in the\u2064 company\u2019s\u2062 possession and\u200b that is \u200cresponsive to the \u200csubpoena \u2026 if\u200b Meta \u2064fails \u2064to comply\u200d in full with \u2063the \u2062subpoena\u2019s \u200bdemands, \u2064the\u2063 Committee may be forced to consider the \u2062use of one or more enforcement mechanisms,\u201d Mr. \u2063Jordan wrote \u200bin his \u2064May\u200d letter.<\/p>\n<p>In \u200ba statement \u200cto \u200bnews\u200d outlets \u2064on\u200b Monday, a Meta spokesperson\u2064 said it gave about 50,000 pages \u2064of documents in response to the\u2064 request.\u200b What\u2019s more, the company\u2063 has \u201cmade nearly\u2063 a dozen\u2062 current\u2063 and former employees available\u2064 to \u2062discuss external and internal issues,\u201d the\u2062 spokesperson said, \u200badding Meta does \u201clook \u2063forward\u2062 to continuing \u2063to\u2063 work with the committee\u2062 moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2062 \u200b <\/p>\n<p>In a separate letter to Mr. Zuckerberg, \u200cMr. Jordan also\u2063 expressed concerns \u200dthat \u200dThreads, which\u200d launched earlier in \u200cJuly, was \u200dcensoring\u200d users. \u2063Neither Meta nor Threads have responded\u200d to these\u2062 specific\u200c allegations at this \u2062time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>if he would consider holding Zuckerberg in contempt if he refuses to cooperate with the investigation into Meta&#8217;s alleged collusion with the government to censor speech.
