It recognizes\u200c the \u200dneed\u200d to strike a \u2064balance\u200d between\u200d the \u200brights\u200b of defendants\u2064 and the rights \u200cof\u200d crime victims.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 cash bail\u2063 provision, \u200bpart of\u2064 the SAFE-T Act signed into\u200b law by\u2064 Governor JB \u200dPritzker (D-IL) last \u200byear, \u200dwas originally\u2063 scheduled to take\u200b effect on January 1 \u200cbut faced legal \u200bchallenges \u2062that \u200bcaused a \u2063delay.<\/p>\n<p>In \u2063response \u2064to\u2063 the Supreme\u200c Court&#8217;s decision, Governor \u2062Pritzker\u2064 expressed \u200chis \u2064satisfaction, stating,\u2062 &#8220;We can\u200b now \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/f-you-charles-barkley-defends-bud-light-and-trans-community\/\" title=\"Charles Barkley defends Bud Light and the trans community with a strong message: \"F*** YOU!\"\">move\u2063 forward<\/a> with\u2062 historic \u2063reform\u2062 to\u200d ensure \u200bpretrial\u2064 detainment is determined by \u2062the danger\u2064 an\u200b individual poses to\u200b the community instead of\u2062 by \u200dtheir ability \u2063to \u200cpay\u2064 their \u2063way out of \u2062jail.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cook County State&#8217;s Attorney\u200d Kim \u2062Foxx,\u2062 a vocal advocate \u2062for eliminating\u2063 cash \u2062bail, praised \u2064the court&#8217;s \u2064ruling. She believes\u2064 that replacing cash bail\u2063 with a detention \u2063process based \u2063on community \u200bsafety, \u2062rather than\u2062 financial status, \u2063will be a \u200bsignificant step\u2064 forward.<\/p>\n<p>However, Kankakee County\u2063 State&#8217;s Attorney Jim\u2062 Rowe,\u2062 who was\u2062 among those who\u2063 sued to \u2062overturn \u200dthe law,\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-confirms-nonveteran-to-head-bidens-veterans-affairs-dept\/\" title=\"Senate Confirms Nonveteran To Head Biden\u2019s Veterans Affairs Dept\">expressed disappointment<\/a>\u2064 with the \u200ddecision.\u200b He\u200b believes the\u2064 law\u200c is \u2064detrimental to public safety \u2063and criticized its passage\u200c in the early hours of the \u200cmorning without public input.<\/p>\n<p>Republican candidate \u2062Ray Estrada,\u200b running for Illinois&#8217;s 17th\u2062 District, \u2063called\u200b the ruling a\u2064 &#8220;radical\u200d policy&#8221; that\u200b fails to address violence\u200b and \u200cempowers prosecutors who\u200b prioritize\u200c &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dems-lost-all-credibility-on-social-distancing-after-biden-celebrations\/\" title=\"Dems Lost All Credibility On Social Distancing After Biden Celebrations\">social justice<\/a>&#8221; over the \u2062safety of\u2062 victims.<\/p>\n<p>Justice David\u2064 K.
