Why\u2064 else\u2064 would\u200b it \u200cpunish the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/big-tech-under-more-fire-for-removing-president-trumps-accounts\/\" title=\"Big Tech under more fire for removing President Trump\u2019s accounts\">social media company<\/a> \u2062as soon \u2064as its incoming CEO pledged \u2062to roll back censorship \u200bon \u200dhis app?<\/p>\n<p>In light of a\u2063 federal judge\u2019s recent ruling\u2062 that barred the Biden administration\u2063 from colluding\u2062 with Big Tech companies \u200bto\u2062 censor Americans\u2019 \u200cspeech, the suspiciously-timed attack on Twitter as \u200dMusk tries to \u2062rebrand\u200c it \u200cas\u200c a \u2064\u201cfree\u2062 speech\u201d platform\u200c is highly suspect.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>FTC\u200c Bullies \u200cTarget\u200c Musk Twitter<\/h3>\n<p>As my\u200d colleague\u2063 Margot\u2063 Cleveland <a\u2062 href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/17\/bidens-ftc-punished-twitter-for-seceding-from-the-censorship-complex\/\" \u2064target=\"_blank\" \u2063rel=\"noreferrer\u2062 noopener\">noted<\/a> on Monday,\u200c the FTC \u200cand Twitter\u200b had \u200boperated for roughly \u200ba\u2063 decade under a\u2063 consent order \u200bthey established\u200b in \u20642011\u200c as \u2062part \u2063of a settlement over \u2062a \u2064violation\u200d of\u200d the Federal Trade\u200d Commission\u2064 Act by Twitter. That \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trade-commissions-retaliation-against-twitter-is-more-proof-the-biden-admin-is-violating-the-first-amendment\/\" title=\"Biden Admin's Retaliation on Twitter Shows First Amendment Violation\">status quo\u2063 quickly \u2063turned<\/a> \u2062into the FTC \u201ctracking \u200brecent developments at \u2063Twitter with deep \u200cconcern\u201d\u2064 and granting \u2064itself \u201cnew tools \u200dto\u2063 ensure \u2064compliance\u201d in \u200da\u200c new consent \u200corder shortly \u2062after Musk, who\u200c committed\u200c himself \u2063to advancing free \u2063speech, \u2064acquired the\u2062 platform in\u200b 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2062agency immediately issued two\u200c demand \u200bletters to \u200dTwitter\u200b seeking \u2064information about\u200b workforce reductions and \u200bthe \u200blaunch\u200c of Twitter\u2063 Blue,\u201d Cleveland \u200cwrote.\u2062 \u201cThose\u200c demand letters came before \u2063Twitter\u200b was even\u200d required \u200cunder the\u2062 2022 \u2062consent decree \u200cto have\u2062 its new\u2063 programs in place.
