Gavin Newsom To Help With Coronavirus Were Rewarded With No-Bid State Contracts\">received preferential treatment<\/a> \u200dduring an investigation \u2063into felony \u2064tax\u200d crimes,\u200c according to the House Oversight Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, a \u200dformer FBI supervisory\u200c special\u200d agent assigned to the \u200dFBI\u2019s Wilmington\u200b office and the Biden \u2063criminal investigation \u2062confirmed key portions of \u200dthe IRS whistleblower\u2019s testimony,\u201d committee\u2063 Chairman \u2062James Comer (R-Ky.)\u200d said\u2064 in a July\u2062 17 \u2064statement.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Comer\u200d did not reveal\u200c the\u2064 identity of\u2063 the former\u2062 FBI\u200c agent.<\/p>\n<p>He\u200b further claimed that the\u200c night before the interview\u2064 of \u2062Hunter Biden, \u2062\u201cboth Secret Service\u2064 headquarters and the Biden transition team \u200bwere tipped off\u2063 about\u2062 the planned \u2063interview.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn \u200bthe\u2064 day of the \u2064Hunter \u2063Biden \u2063interview, \u200cfederal\u200b agents\u2064 were told to stand by and could \u2063not approach \u2063Hunter Biden\u2014they had \u200dto wait \u2064for his call. As \u2062a result\u200d of the\u200b change in plans, IRS\u2063 and FBI\u2062 criminal investigators never got to interview \u200cHunter \u2063Biden as part of the\u2063 investigation,\u201d \u200dhe continued.<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times has contacted the\u200c White House\u2062 for\u2062 comment.<\/p>\n<p>Mr.\u200b Biden\u2019s son \u2064has\u200d been\u200b under federal investigation\u200b for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-accuses-n-y-attorney-general-letitia-james-of-prosecutorial-misconduct\/\" title=\"Trump accuses N.Y. Attorney General Letitia James of \u2018prosecutorial misconduct\u2019\">alleged tax fraud<\/a> since \u20622018. \u2062According\u200c to prosecutors,\u2064 he\u2063 received\u200d more \u2064than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/read-full-charges-against-hunter-biden_5344439.html\">$1.5 million<\/a>\u2063 in taxable income in 2017 and\u200c more\u200b than\u200c $1.5 \u2063million more in 2018 and was \u2063required\u200d by law \u200dto \u2063pay more\u2062 than $100,000 \u2064in income tax \u2064for his earnings each of\u2062 those years\u200c but failed \u200dto \u2062pay the tax.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5260966\" style=\"width: \u2062600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/12\/id5260966-GettyImages-1251382645-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption \u200cclass=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n\t<\/figure>\n<h2>\u2018Obvious Conflicts \u2063of Interest\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Mr.\u2063 Comer\u2019s statement comes after Gary \u2064Shapley,\u200c an IRS supervisory special \u2062agent, earlier this year\u200c claimed that the \u200bDepartment of\u2064 Justice and\u200b the \u200dDelaware \u2063U.S.\u2064 Attorney\u2019s\u200d Office interfered\u2064 in \u2064the\u2063 investigation \u200dinto \u200dthe \u200cyounger Mr. Biden in an attempt \u200dto\u2064 delay \u200dthe probe.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u2064 Mr. Shapley, the DOJ\u200b provided the\u2064 younger Mr. Biden with\u2062 preferential \u2062treatment, \u201cslow-walked the\u200b investigation,\u201d and \u201cdid nothing \u200dto avoid obvious\u2064 conflicts\u2062 of\u2064 interest in this investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former \u200dIRS agent \u2062additionally told prosecutors that\u200d the \u2064case\u2063 into Hunter Biden \u2062had been \u201chandled differently than any \u2063investigation\u201d he\u2019d\u200c ever\u2062 been part\u2063 of\u200d in his 14 years\u200d of\u2063 service to the\u2064 IRS\u200c and \u200cthat some aspects \u2062of \u200cthe case appeared to be influenced by\u200b politics.<\/p>\n<p>Another\u200b whistleblower, \u2062a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lead-investigator-comes-forward-says-bidens-blm-nominee-was-extremely-anti-government-and-actively-involved-in-1989-eco-terrorism-incident\/\" title=\"Lead Investigator Comes Forward, Says Biden\u2019s BLM Nominee Was \u2018Extremely Anti-Government\u2019 And Actively Involved In 1989 Eco-Terrorism Incident\">criminal investigator<\/a>\u200d with\u200b the\u2064 IRS identified \u2063only \u200das Whistleblower X, has made \u2063similar \u2063claims.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ\u200b has \u200cdenied any \u200cinterference in the\u200b investigation into \u200dHunter Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Mr. Biden has\u2064 denied \u2064any\u2064 wrongdoing \u200don behalf\u2064 of\u2064 his family or \u2064himself.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden agreed to plead \u200dguilty to two counts\u2063 of willful \u2063failure\u2063 to pay \u2062federal income tax \u2062in a deal\u2064 with \u200dthe\u2063 U.S.\u200c government in \u200bJune, according \u200cto\u2062 a\u200d letter from\u200c U.S.\u200b Attorney \u2062David Weiss to the\u200b U.S. \u2062court in \u2063Delaware.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement to plead guilty meant he avoided prosecution \u2062on \u200ca separate \u2063gun charge.
