And while some details from \u2063that \u2063closed-door\u2063 testimony \u2063should \u2062be reiterated \u2064during\u200b the on-camera congressional hearing, Oversight Committee\u2062 Chair James Comer\u2062 should corral \u2064Republicans\u200d before Wednesday to coordinate the\u2063 questioning\u200c of the whistleblowers \u2064so\u200c the country \u200dlearns\u200d the depth of the\u2064 scandal.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex\u2063 justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1095124236\">\n<div \u2063id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-dcd92f4903ddeee88d8ff20f23a399cd fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-dcd92f4903ddeee88d8ff20f23a399cd\"><\/div>\n<p>Here\u2019s what they should ask Shapley and\u200d the soon-to-be-named second whistleblower and how they should do it.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.\u200b Let\u2063 the \u200cWhistleblowers\u200c Do\u2063 the Talking<\/h2>\n<ol><\/ol>\n<p>Because the \u2062legacy\u200d press will be \u200bpoised \u2064to present Wednesday\u2019s hearing \u200das\u2062 a \u200dRepublican witch hunt\u200c and their\u200c supposed \u2062continued hounding \u200cof Hunter Biden, \u2063the representatives on \u200cthe right side of the aisle\u200b should\u2063 save \u2062the \u2062grandstanding\u200d for\u200c another time and \u200dlet the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-border-patrol-agents-furious-with-bidens-promise-to-make-them-pay-he-just-started-a-war\/\" title=\"Report: Border Patrol Agents Furious With Biden\u2019s Promise To Make Them \u2018Pay\u2019: \u2018He Just Started A War\u2019\">agents speak<\/a> for themselves.<\/p>\n<p>As experienced agents, both Shapley and Whistleblower X know \u200bhow to testify in \u200ba clear and understandable \u2063way. They \u2062also know how to respond to a hostile \u2063cross-examination,\u2062 which unfortunately\u200b will be\u200c what they face from Democrats. Republicans\u2064 should ask the agents open-ended \u2064questions that \u200ccall \u2064for narrative\u200b responses \u200band allow the \u2062whistleblowers\u2019\u200c words to \u2064convey to America the protect-Biden\u200b scandal\u2062 they witnessed.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.\u2063 Start \u2064with Preliminaries, Not the \u200bMost Salacious Details<\/h2>\n<ol><\/ol>\n<p>While it is understandable that the House \u2063Oversight\u2063 Committee will \u200cwant to \u2064strike hard and fast with the most devastating \u2064testimony, Republicans must\u2064 remember the \u2063media blackout \u2063over\u200d this scandal\u200d means \u2062most Americans remain ignorant of many of\u200d the basics\u2064 of the\u200b Hunter Biden investigation \u2063and how it connects to now-President Biden. \u200dMany\u200c Americans likely \u2063also know\u2062 little about the two witnesses\u200d and\u200d may \u2063even believe the Democrats\u2019 \u2062defamatory branding \u2062of the whistleblowers as \u2063\u201cbought and paid for\u201d by extreme MAGA \u2063Republicans.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-dc7c7631be9840414a4e97a16e49ba78 \u200bfdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-dc7c7631be9840414a4e97a16e49ba78\"><\/div>\n<p>For these \u200creasons, before delving\u2063 into the details,\u2064 Republicans\u2064 should ensure the\u200c country learns of the whistleblowers\u2019 \u2062extensive and impressive \u200dprofessional\u2063 background. Comer should\u2064 also ensure the whistleblowers come clean about\u200b any\u2062 political \u2064leanings they have, which appears to be none or,\u2064 if\u200d any, leaning more to the \u2063left\u200c than the right. The whistleblowers\u2019 opening statements will likely\u200b cover these preliminaries\u200b to some\u2064 extent, but \u2062providing\u200d another minute for each witness \u200dto <em>briefly remind Americans of \u2062your experience\u2062 with the criminal investigation\u2062 division of the \u2063IRS<\/em> and <em>explain to\u200d the country where you stand politically<\/em> would be wise.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Begin\u2064 Big-Picture\u200c Before \u200cHitting the\u200d Details<\/h2>\n<ol><\/ol>\n<p>The \u2063committee \u2064should\u2064 then\u2062 move to \u2062the origins of the investigation and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-admin-declassifies-intelligence-that-indicates-china-offered-to-pay-non-state-actors-in-afghanistan-to-attack-us-soldiers\/\" title=\"Trump Admin Declassifies Intelligence that Indicates China Offered to Pay Non-State Actors in Afghanistan to Attack US Soldiers\">big picture<\/a> of the scandal. <em>More detailed questions will\u2064 follow, but could you first broadly explain why and when\u2064 the investigation began? Can \u2062you summarize the staffing of \u2063the \u2062investigative team and how the FBI field offices, \u2063FBI headquarters, \u200bthe \u200bIRS criminal division, and the U.S. \u2064attorneys\u2019 \u2064offices interacted at the beginning of the investigation, and then later throughout the \u2062investigation?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Again, let the whistleblowers\u200b tell their \u2062story, using\u200d follow-up questions\u200b to\u200c draw out more\u2062 details, if necessary, \u200bbut from \u200da\u2062 big-picture perspective. \u200cAnd \u2063once \u200cthe whistleblowers explain \u200bhow the investigation proceeded, broadly speaking, ask: \u200d<em>Was that staffing and interaction, \u2062especially\u2062 with\u200b the DOJ and FBI,\u200b the norm?<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 \u2064class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. \u200cEvidence and Interference<\/h2>\n<ol><\/ol>\n<p>With\u2064 the above backdrop\u2062 established, the committee \u200dshould focus \u200bnext\u200d on two main \u2064lines of questioning: the evidence uncovered of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jussie-smollett-special-prosecutor-referring-kim-foxx-to-illinois-attorney-registration-for-ethic-violations-false-statements\/\" title=\"Jussie Smollett Special Prosecutor Referring Kim Foxx To Illinois Attorney Registration For Ethic Violations, False Statements\">potential criminal conduct<\/a> and the \u2063interference the agents faced \u200cwhen investigating \u200dthe case.<\/p>\n<div\u200c class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ad4f44a242d44d9e4dc0520a8e6eb7d2 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ad4f44a242d44d9e4dc0520a8e6eb7d2\"><\/div>\n<p>The most effective and efficient way to \u200dpresent this testimony will \u2063be \u2064by requesting the\u2062 whistleblowers walk the committee \u2062through the chronology\u200d of\u200c the investigation, \u2064identifying \u2062at\u2062 each stage what evidence was uncovered and how, \u2063and whether there was any interference \u200cin\u2064 the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Follow-up questions for each leg\u200d in\u200b the\u200c investigative journey should inquire \u2062of any \u200bwitnesses\u200d or evidence they \u2062know\u2064 of to corroborate their\u200c testimony and what steps\u2064 they normally would have\u200b taken\u2063 absent the \u2064interference.<\/p>\n<p>Because the committee has\u200d the transcript of the whistleblowers\u2019 \u200cprevious closed-door testimony to the House Ways and Means \u200cCommittee, the staffers should be able\u200d to easily \u200dsequence \u2064the \u2064questioning to ensure it is\u200d accessible\u200c to ordinary\u2062 Americans.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Weiss\u2019s Weasel\u200d Words and \u200cGarland\u2019s \u2063False \u200bOnes<\/h2>\n<ol><\/ol>\n<p>While the \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/7-things-the-house-oversight-committee-should-ask-irs-whistleblowers\/\" title=\"7 Key Questions for IRS Whistleblowers by House Oversight Committee\">whistleblowers\u2019 prior\u2062 testimony revealed \u200dscores<\/a> of ways in \u2062which \u2064the DOJ\u200d and FBI interfered in the investigation, equally concerning is U.S.\u2062 Attorney David Weiss \u2062and Attorney General Merrick Garland\u2019s attempts\u2063 to cover\u2063 up \u200cthat interference.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, Shapley testified\u200c about the D.C. and California U.S. attorneys\u2019\u200b refusal\u200b to\u2064 file charges against\u200c Hunter \u200bBiden,\u2062 and \u200cWeiss\u2019s inability to\u200d indict \u2063the\u2062 president\u2019s\u200d son in those venues without permission from the \u2064Department \u200bof Justice \u2062\u2014 permission Weiss\u200b allegedly\u200c claims had been denied him. According to\u200d Shapley,\u2063 Weiss made \u2064that statement during an\u2064 Oct. 7,\u200b 2022, meeting and\u2062 said he was \u201cnot\u2063 the deciding person on whether \u2062charges \u2064are filed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neither\u2062 Weiss nor Garland has expressly denied\u2064 Shapley\u2019s \u200dclaims,\u2062 but both made\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/26\/irs-whistleblower-emails-suggest-david-weiss-misled-congress-in-letter-claiming-charging-authority\/\">statements<\/a> that\u200b cannot\u200c be reconciled\u2063 with Shapley\u2019s testimony. Garland, for his part, testified\u200d to the Senate \u2063Judiciary Committee \u200dthat\u2063 Weiss \u201chas \u2064full authority\u201d\u2064 to bring \u200dcases \u2064in\u200b another jurisdiction \u200cif he deemed it necessary. Weiss similarly claimed\u200b in a \u2063letter \u2063to Congress that \u201che\u2064 had \u200bbeen granted the ultimate authority\u201d over the Biden investigation, but\u200c the Delaware U.S. attorney quickly clarified\u200d in\u2063 a second \u2062letter that\u2063 he didn\u2019t\u200d have that authority \u2063yet but had \u200bbeen assured\u200c he would be granted it if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>On \u2062Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee should\u200b ask \u200dShapley to \u200bretell \u200bthe events of the Oct. 7 meeting \u2063because\u2064 the IRS agents\u2019 \u200ctestimony \u2063implicates Weiss \u200dand \u200dGarland in a cover-up. \u2064Republicans should also ask \u2063Shapley\u2064 whether it \u200dis possible Weiss said during that \u2064meeting\u200c that he \u2062had been denied\u200b a \u200drequest to be appointed a special attorney as\u2064 opposed to a special \u200bcounsel, as some Democrats are\u2064 suggesting Shapley \u2064misunderstood \u200bWeiss. A \u200dquick follow-up here, however, \u200cwill also\u2064 make\u2063 clear that no matter\u2064 which\u2063 \u201cspecial\u201d \u2062appointment \u2064Weiss said he was denied, the U.S. attorney clearly said he wasn\u2019t the decisionmaker.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Evidence \u200cSeen or Not Seen<\/h2>\n<ol><\/ol>\n<p>The \u2064DOJ and \u200cFBI also \u200binterfered in\u200c the investigation by\u200b withholding evidence from Shapley and\u200b his investigative\u2064 team. \u2064For instance,\u2064 both Shapley\u2063 and Whistleblower \u2062X \u2064stated they were not aware\u200c of the FD-1023\u2062 form that summarized a\u200b confidential human \u2063source\u2019s claims that\u200b Joe and Hunter Biden each \u2064received $5 \u200bmillion in \u200bbribes from Burisma. Shapley also testified \u2063that he was\u2062 prevented from\u2064 seeing all \u200bthe\u2064 evidence on the \u200dHunter Biden \u2062laptop, even after the\u200c FBI had removed documents potentially protected\u2063 by attorney-client \u2064privilege.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b committee\u2064 should elicit testimony from Shapley and Whistleblower X \u200cconcerning this withheld evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans \u200dshould\u2063 then\u2062 attempt to learn what other \u200devidence may have \u2062been secreted from the investigative team. The committee should read off \u200da litany of the evidence\u2064 it has\u2063 and ask the\u200b whistleblowers if they\u2064 were familiar \u2064with\u200c that \u200devidence. Similarly,\u200b the committee should\u2064 provide a\u2064 list of witnesses with likely knowledge of\u2062 the \u2063pay-to-play scandal and ask whether the whistleblowers knew of those individuals\u2019 potential \u2063involvement and whether they were questioned.<\/p>\n<p>This\u200d line \u2062of questioning may reveal\u200b new areas of inquiry \u2014 something the whistleblowers may not\u200c have known\u2064 of previously. But in \u200dthat case, \u2062the whistleblowers may\u2064 not be able to respond to the\u2063 questions because only the House \u200dWays and Means Committee\u2062 has the authority \u2062to\u2063 receive\u200d protected tax \u200binformation. The\u200c right \u200bquestions, though, will \u200dgive the \u2062whistleblowers\u2063 the \u200copportunity to\u200b convey that they have\u2063 not seen the\u200d particular evidence referenced and\u200d therefore cannot respond to \u2062the query in this setting, but \u2063would\u2063 be happy to \u2064provide \u200cthe Ways and Means\u200b Committee a supplemental affidavit.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Anything More That\u2064 Could Be\u200b Done<\/h2>\n<ol><\/ol>\n<p>The whistleblowers have \u2064already made\u200d clear the statute of limitations \u2063ran out on potential felony\u2062 tax charges against Hunter Biden because the Delaware U.S. attorney lacked \u200dthe authority to indict the president\u2019s son\u200b in another state. \u2062But what about\u2062 the allegations contained in the\u200b FD-1023 or the \u200dother \u2064banking records recovered \u200cby \u200cthe \u200dvarious House committees? \u200bDoes that \u200cevidence indicate\u200b additional crimes have been\u2063 committed for which\u2063 the statute\u200d of limitations\u200d has \u200dnot yet expired?<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblowers should be asked: <em>What potential \u2062crimes? What investigative techniques would you \u2064recommend? Given the international\u2062 scope\u2063 of \u200dthese potential crimes, \u2063does the \u200cBaltimore FBI field office\u2062 have \u2063the expertise\u200b to investigate\u200b adequately?
