Bush and Barack\u2063 Obama between\u2062 2003 \u200band \u20642012.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b  <\/p>\n<h3>Resolutions to \u2064Repeal \u200cNational Emergencies<\/h3>\n<p>\u200c  <\/p>\n<p>H.J.Res.68,\u2064 introduced \u200bby Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), would repeal the \u2062national\u200b emergency \u2064declared \u200bby Mr. Bush on Oct. \u206227,\u200c 2006,\u2062 as it pertained\u200c to blocking\u2064 the\u200d property of \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/treasury-dept-places-sanctions-on-global-entities-for-technology-related-abuses\/\" title=\"Treasury Dept. places sanctions on global entities for technology-related abuses\">sanctioned individuals<\/a> behind \u2063the\u200c conflict in the\u200d Democratic Republic\u2063 of \u2062the Congo.<\/p>\n<p> \u2062 <\/p>\n<p>H.J.Res.70, \u200dintroduced by Rep. \u200cPaul\u2064 Gosar (R-Ariz.),\u200b would undo\u200d the\u200c national \u200cemergency declared by Mr. \u200bObama \u200bon \u200bFeb.\u2063 25, 2011, \u2064as \u2062it related to the \u200cconflict in\u2064 Libya.<\/p>\n<p> \u2064 <\/p>\n<p>H.J.Res.74, \u2062also introduced \u200dby \u2063Mr. Gosar,\u2063 would repeal the national\u2064 emergency declared by Mr. Obama \u200con May \u206216,\u2062 2012, as it \u200dpertained to sanctioning \u200bthose behind the dire\u200b situation in Yemen.<\/p>\n<p>H.J.Res.71, introduced by \u2064Rep. Eli\u200d Crane \u200b(R-Ariz.), would \u2064undo the\u2063 national emergency \u200ddeclared \u200bby\u2064 Mr. \u200bBush on May 22, 2003, related\u2064 to \u200bthe stabilization\u200d of\u200b Iraq.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d  <\/p>\n<p>H.J.Res.79, introduced by Rep. Matt\u2064 Gaetz (R-Fla.), would repeal the\u2064 national emergency\u200c declared by \u200bMr.\u200c Bush on May 11, 2004, that sanctioned\u200d people and prohibited certain exports to Syria \u200cover \u200cits\u2064 support for\u200d terrorism and \u2062other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chinese-envoys-lambaste-bidens-delegation-in-alaska-talks-accuse-u-s-of-provoking-conflict-violating-human-rights-meddling-with-chinas-internal-affairs\/\" title=\"Chinese envoys lambaste Biden\u2019s delegation in Alaska talks, accuse U.S. of provoking conflict, violating human rights, meddling with China\u2019s \u2018internal affairs\u2019\">malign activities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gabriel Noronha, who\u2062 served \u2063as\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cdc-to-release-revised-guidance-reducing-covid-19-quarantine-time-from-14-days-to-7-10\/\" title=\"CDC to release revised guidance reducing COVID-19 quarantine time from 14 days to 7-10\">special adviser<\/a> \u200bfor\u200d the Iran \u2063Action Group \u2062in the \u2063State \u2062Department under \u200cPresident Donald Trump, warned in \u2063a July 17 Twitter\u200c thread\u200b that Mr. Gosar, \u200dMr. Crane, and Mr. Gaetz\u2019s resolutions\u200d would\u2062 cease sanctions\u200d against\u2063 dangerous\u2062 people, including \u2064\u201cISIS fundraisers, war criminals, and \u200dmurderers of U.S. soldiers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \u2064 \u2064<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Noronha said \u2064that H.J.Res.70 would \u2063end \u201csanctions\u2064 the family of Libyan\u2064 dictator\u200d Mohammad Gaddafi \u200dand\u200c sanctions [of]\u200b a Libyan oil and \u200ddrug smuggling\u2062 network\u201d that were enacted \u200dby \u2063the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p> \u200b <\/p>\n<p>Regarding \u2063H.J.Res.74, \u200bMr. Noronha stated that \u2064it would\u2063 end\u200d an executive\u200b order that\u2063 has been \u200bused to sanction \u2063Houthi \u2062head Abdul \u2062Malik Houthi and \u200bother\u200d Houthi terrorists based\u200d in\u200c Yemen \u2064and supported by \u200cIran.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. \u2063Noronha\u200b said \u200dMr. Crane\u2019s\u200d resolution \u201cwould end several \u200dIraq\u200b sanctions authorities\u200d used to target \u200c207 \u200cterrorists and \u200bmilitia \u2063leaders \u200cin Iraq\u2014guys \u200blike Abu \u200cMustafa\u2062 al-Sheibani,\u2064 responsible \u200dfor killing and kidnapping U.S. \u200csoldiers,\u201d \u200bwho \u200dwould\u2062 \u201cbe \u2064free \u2064from sanctions \u200dif this\u2062 were passed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>H.J.Res.79\u200b \u201cwould \u2064end several \u2063Syrian sanctions that hit 664 \u2063individuals \u200band entities\u2014guys\u200d like George \u200bHaswani, \u2062who \u2062helped \u200csell ISIS\u2019\u200d oil to\u2064 Assad. Or dozens of\u2063 Assad\u2019s\u200d chemical weapons \u200bscientists who gassed\u200d innocent\u200d Syrians to death with \u200bSarin poison,\u201d according \u2063to\u2062 Mr. Noronha.<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch \u200bTimes\u2063 has reached \u2064out to the\u2063 offices of Ms. Boebert, \u200cMr. Crane, and\u2063 Mr. Gaetz for\u200b comment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve only touched on the very\u200d tip\u2064 of the\u200c iceberg of \u2063just \u2063how \u200dmany terrorists, chemical weapons scientists,\u200d torturers, terror fundraisers, drug \u2062lords, \u200band\u2062 more \u2062would \u2064be freed\u2064 from sanctions. \u2062These \u2062scum \u200bwhose hands \u200bare soaked\u200c in blood could freely bank again\u2014or \u200dcome \u200dto \u200bAmerica!\u201d posted Mr. Noronha.<\/p>\n<p> \u200b \u200d<\/p>\n<h2>The Rationale<\/h2>\n<p>  \u200b<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, \u2064in \u200ca statement\u2063 to The\u2064 Epoch \u200bTimes, \u200bMr. Gosar explained the rationale \u2062behind his resolutions to end \u2063emergency\u2064 declarations tied to\u2062 Libya\u2062 and \u2064Yemen. \u2062Part of his explanation \u2062stemmed from Congress\u2019 role \u200cin \u2064reviewing\u200c national emergencies.<\/p>\n<p> \u200d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere \u2064are currently 41 \u2064extended\u200d national emergencies \u2064that \u2063are \u200dsubject to periodic Congressional review. The emergency\u2063 declarations related\u2062 to\u200d Libya\u2064 and \u2063Yemen are \u2063more than\u200c a decade \u2063old,\u201d\u200b he \u2062said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe National\u2064 Emergencies Act mandates Congress\u2063 consider \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-to-vote-on-resolutions-to-lift-terrorism-related-sanctions\/\" title=\"House to vote on lifting terrorism-related sanctions.\">joint\u200d resolutions \u200dterminating national emergencies<\/a>\u2063 every\u200c six months,\u201d \u200dcontinued Mr. \u2063Gosar. \u201cYet Congress has\u200b never reviewed the legitimacy of the\u200b national \u200bemergency \u2064related\u2063 to<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The House of Representatives plans to vote on July 18 to remove terrorism-related sanctions.
