Elon Musk, who \u200btook over Twitter last fall, \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/digital\/news\/elon-musk-twitter-legal-threat-meta-instagram-threads-1235663115\/\" \u200btarget=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">threatened<\/a> to sue Meta \u2063for misappropriation\u2064 of trade \u200csecrets in its development of Threads.<\/p>\n<p>  \u2063<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Jordan warned the recent \u200d<a\u200d href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/07\/in-missouri-v-biden-judge-checks-government-power-because-corporate-media-wont\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">injunction<\/a> handed down by a federal judge \u200cin\u2063 the\u2064 Western \u2062District \u200dof\u2062 Louisiana barred \u2062the federal \u2064government from \u2062collaborating \u2062with Silicon Valley tech\u200d giants to implement a censorship regime. In <em>Missouri v. Biden,<\/em> Chief Judge Terry Doughty <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23867004-08917380420?responsive=1&#038;title=1\" target=\"_blank\" \u200crel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> that if the allegations of\u2063 tech conglomerates\u2019 participation in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/is-threads-colluding-with-feds-to-censor-americans-like-facebook-did-judiciary-chair-jordan-asks-zuckerberg-for-answers\/\" title=\"Did Threads collude with feds to censor Americans, similar to Facebook? Jordan, Judiciary Chair, seeks answers from Zuckerberg.\">federal censorship \u200bcampaign prove true<\/a>, the \u200dcase \u201carguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States\u2019 history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Attorneys general in Louisiana and\u2062 Missouri filed\u200d the <a \u2062href=\"https:\/\/ago.mo.gov\/docs\/default-source\/press-releases\/missouri-v-biden-ruling.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" \u200crel=\"noreferrer \u2063noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> last \u200byear claiming\u200d White House \u2064officials abused\u200b their roles to \u2064pressure major online platforms into censoring certain \u2064perspectives about\u200d Covid-19,\u2063 election integrity, \u2062and the \u200cpresident,\u2063 among\u200d other items.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe court recognized that Meta played a central role in \u2064this censorship scheme, frequently\u2064 acquiescing and\u200d catering \u2062to the government\u2019s requests and demands,\u201d Jordan wrote.<\/p>\n<p> \u2062 <\/p>\n<p>The \u2063Judiciary\u2019s Select \u2064Subcommittee on \u200bthe Weaponization of the Federal Government, \u2064also \u2063led by Jordan, \u2064has conducted\u2063 a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/09\/democrats-desperate-to-implement-censorship-regime-disregard-free-speech-in-weaponization-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u2063 rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hearings<\/a> this \u2063year\u200b on \u2064the federal censorship regime. The next hearing \u2063will be held on Thursday and\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/committee-activity\/hearings\/hearing-weaponization-federal-government-3\">will<\/a> \u200d\u201cexamine\u2062 the\u2064 federal government\u2019s role\u2064 in censoring Americans, the <em>Missouri v.
