These \u200ccases\u2064 took place\u2064 in the\u2064 1800s,\u200c and \u200dno\u2063 one \u2064was ever \u200bconvicted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, the left was\u2062 more than willing \u200bto \u2062talk\u200b about using \u200dthe \u200dLogan Act promiscuously \u200cagainst Trump administration officials, particularly\u2064 former \u2064National \u200cSecurity \u200cAdvisor \u200cMichael Flynn, \u2063for \u2064his \u2064discussions\u2062 with Russia\u2062 officials \u2062before \u2062Donald Trump took office \u2064as\u200c the 45th president of the \u200bUnited\u2064 States. As <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2017\/12\/01\/politics\/michael-flynn-logan-act\/index.html\" \u2063target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> reported \u2063in December 2017,\u200d a former \u2062prosecutor \u200dwith\u200d ties\u2062 to \u2062then-Special\u200c Counsel\u2064 Robert \u200dMueller\u2019s,\u200b called\u2062 Flynn\u2019s contact with Russia \u200b\u201cfacially\u201d\u200b in violation of\u2062 the Logan\u2064 Act.<\/p>\n<p>Flynn\u2019s contact \u2062with Russia over a\u200b U.N. resolution\u2062 during\u2063 which the \u200doutgoing Obama\u2064 administration \u2064was in conflict over\u200c Israel \u201cseems \u2062to \u200bviolate \u2063what\u200d the Logan\u2063 Act intended \u200bto \u2063prevent,\u201d\u2064 said Michael\u2064 Zeldin, \u200dformer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ford-wants-its-cars-back-from-the-nra\/\" title=\"Ford Wants Its Cars Back From the NRA\u00a0\">special assistant<\/a> to\u2063 Mueller in the Justice\u2063 Department.<\/p>\n<p>However, the left\u200b has cooled\u200b off\u2062 on \u200bthe idea of \u200busing the \u200c<a \u200chref=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/logan-act-schmogan-act\/\"\u2063 target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Logan Act<\/a>\u2064 over\u200d the \u2063past few years, particularly since 1) Donald Trump \u2062has\u2063 accused \u200dKerry \u2062of\u2062 violating \u200dit in his discussions \u2063with Tehran over \u2063the Iranian nuclear \u2064deal and \u200b2) Kerry himself has\u200d all \u2064but admitted \u200bto\u200c behavior that, to\u2062 put \u2063it in Zeldin\u2019s \u2063words, \u200d\u201cseems\u200b to violate what \u200dthe \u2064Logan Act intended to\u2064 prevent,\u201d \u200cwhich would be \u200ba \u2062felony.<\/p>\n<p>In case\u2062 you missed it, \u2062Kerry\u200b basically \u200dadmitted it again\u2062 on Thursday \u200bin \u200chis \u200btestimony\u2064 before\u200d Congress, when he \u200btold GOP \u2062Rep.\u2062 Michael Waltz\u200d of\u2062 Florida\u2064 that \u200dhe had \u2064at \u200cleast\u2063 three\u200d secret meetings\u2064 with \u2062former Iranian\u2064 foreign minister Mohammad\u200b Javad\u2064 Zarif in an\u2062 attempt to \u200csalvage\u200b the nuclear deal.<\/p>\n<p>Waltz pointed \u2063to a 2018 \u2064interview in which \u2064he said Kerry \u201c<a\u200d href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/titanic-sub-ceo-admitted-hired-diversity-shunned-50-year-old-white-guys-military-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" \u2064rel=\"noopener\">admitted<\/a>\u200c to\u2063 speaking with\u200b Iranian foreign minister\u200d Zarif\u200d \u2018three\u200c or four\u2063 times\u2019\u2062 from \u200cthe start of the previous\u2062 administration.\u201d He then \u200basked\u200c whether conversations \u2063with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/us-calls-for-freedom-of-asean-countries-to-choose-their-alliances\/\" title=\"US urges ASEAN countries to have freedom in choosing their alliances.\">foreign\u2063 minister<\/a> had taken place over WhatsApp,\u2063 Signal \u200bor other \u2062messaging services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u200c don\u2019t recall\u200d how I\u200b communicated with him,\u201d Kerry \u2064said. However,\u200d he didn\u2019t deny\u2064 communications, and said \u2064that\u200b \u201cshadow\u200c diplomacy\u201d \u200cis \u2063permissible, \u2063even \u2062as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-12-people-dead-31-injured-violent-multi-vehicle-crash-may-god-mercy-citizens\/\" target=\"_blank\" \u200drel=\"noopener\">private\u2063 citizen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2062 also disputed a New \u200dYork Times report \u2064citing \u200cleaked \u200daudio in which \u2064\u201cZarif said \u200cyou\u2064 told\u2063 him that Israel attacked Iranian assets \u2063in Syria\u200c at\u2062 least \u2064\u2014 quote\u200c \u2014 \u2018at\u200b least\u2063 200 times,&#8217;\u201d\u200c as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/congressman-served-special-forces-warns-griner-swap-will-mean-americans-going-forward\/\" \u200btarget=\"_blank\" \u2063rel=\"noopener\">Waltz<\/a> \u2063said:\u2064 \u201cZarif\u200b was surprised \u200dyou\u200c would reveal \u200bsuch\u2062 sensitive \u2064information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However,\u2064 Kerry\u2019s denial was a bit murky when he said, \u201cWe made\u2064 it\u2063 crystal clear\u200c in a release that \u200cwe put \u200cout\u2063 that that \u2062never took place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u200c was\u200b at\u200c a \u2064time\u200b when \u200bthere\u200d was public\u2064 discussion \u200dof those \u2062attacks\u2062 \u2026 \u200bit \u200cwas\u2064 in \u200cpublic \u2063circulation.\u2063 I don\u2019t\u200b know\u200b what\u200b he\u2019s confusing or \u2062what \u2062he did, \u200bbut \u200bI\u2063 can tell you that \u2062I never \u200chad\u200d that conversation,\u201d Kerry\u2063 said.<\/p>\n<p>Waltz then\u200b asked \u200dhow he would feel\u2062 if\u200c a\u2064 former Trump\u200d administration official were to interfere\u200d with the \u2062policy of the\u2063 <a \u2062href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-administration-releases-pro-transgender-propaganda-piece-rachel-levine\/\" \u200ctarget=\"_blank\"\u2063 rel=\"noopener\">Biden administration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kerry\u200c responded, \u200b\u201cI\u2019m \u200bnot\u200b going to speak\u200c to any\u2063 hypotheticals, but\u2062 I can tell you, I never \u200cengaged in\u2062 that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShadow\u2063 diplomacy undermines American goals,\u201d \u200bWaltz\u2063 responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShadow \u2064diplomacy,\u200d depending\u2064 on\u200b what\u200c it\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-kerry-justifies-secret-iran-nukes-pact-meetings-behind-trumps-back-did-he-just-admit-to-violating-logan-act\/\" title=\"Watch: Kerry defends secret meetings on Iran nukes pact without informing Trump. Did he confess to breaking the Logan Act?\">involves \u200c\u2014 shadow\u2062 diplomacy<\/a> has \u200calso \u200bsaved us from a war,\u201d Kerry shot \u2062back. \u201cIf you look at 1963,\u2064 with Jack,\u200c with \u200bthe \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/history-repeating-major-american-enemy-puts-bases-cuba-17-latin-american-countries\/\"\u2064 target=\"_blank\" \u200crel=\"noopener\">Cuban missile<\/a> \u200ccrisis, it was\u2063 behind\u2064 the\u2064 scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<br \u200c\/><\/div>\n<p>Maybe \u2062I\u2019m not brushed up on\u200d my \u206220th century\u200c history, but\u200b I don\u2019t\u200b remember\u200d anyone \u200cinvolved\u200d in\u200d the Nixon\u200b campaign \u200bhaving \u2063discussions with \u200cCuban officials\u200c during\u200b that\u2062 1962\u200b crisis \u2064and \u200deffectively defusing\u2062 the conflict. \u2064Furthermore, \u200cas \u200bWaltz \u200bpointed out, \u201cI \u200bwould\u200c posture that\u200b your \u2062shadow\u2063 diplomacy \u2063now has\u2064 us on \u200cthe verge of Iran having\u200c a nuclear weapon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This\u2064 is because, \u200ceffectively, \u2062Kerry\u2019s \u201cshadow \u2063diplomacy\u201d was meant to \u200bsalvage\u200d the \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/iranian-president-warns-american-soldier-danger-nuclear-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" \u200crel=\"noopener\">Iranian nuclear \u2063deal<\/a>, according to \u200da CNN \u200b\u201cfact check\u201d of \u2063a \u200b2019 Trump \u2063statement \u200bin\u2063 which the\u2063 former \u200dpresident said Kerry \u200dviolated\u2062 the \u2064Logan \u200bAct.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA source close\u2062 to the former secretary of state said\u2062 Kerry hasn\u2019t \u2064talked with \u200dIranian officials since\u200d President Trump announced the \u2062U.S. was\u2062 pulling out of the Iran deal \u200clast \u2063year,\u201d\u2062 CNN \u2064noted in\u200b 2019.\u2064 \u201cPrior \u2063to\u2062 the \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-snaps-reporter-afghan-withdrawal-tantrum-plays-right-talibans-hands\/\" target=\"_blank\" \u200drel=\"noopener\">withdrawal<\/a>, \u200cthe source\u200c said \u2064Kerry did\u200c communicate with the\u2064 Iranians \u2062to \u2063urge\u200c them to\u200d stay in \u2063the deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u2063source \u2062also\u200c denied\u2062 that Kerry \u2064ever discouraged\u200b the Iranians from \u200dtalking \u2063to Trump. \u200bAt \u2064the time, the\u2064 source said,\u200b Kerry\u200d urged\u2064 everyone on \u200ball sides to\u2062 talk \u2064and use \u2064diplomacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After \u2062a \u200bFebruary \u200c2020 tweet \u200bin\u200b which\u2063 <a \u200bhref=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dick-morris-john-kerry-told-palestinians-trump-year-violating-logan-act\/\" \u200dtarget=\"_blank\"\u2064 rel=\"noopener\">Kerry<\/a> was again accused of violating the\u2062 Logan\u200c Act \u200bby Trump, Kerry called\u2063 it \u201canother presidential lie, a complete\u2063 effort \u200cby the\u200c president to \u2062distort\u2063 reality,\u201d\u2062 according \u2063to\u200d <a\u2063 href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/483848-kerry-responds-to-trump-accusation-he-violated-logan-act-another\/\" \u200ctarget=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The\u200d Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote\u2064 class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">John Kerry and Senator\u2064 Chris Murphy\u200b grossly violated the Logan\u2064 Act with\u2062 respect\u2062 to Iran.
