Criticism \u200cof the \u2062agency only \u2064magnified \u200cfollowing \u2064the FBI\u2019s \u2063raid \u200dof\u200b Mr. \u200bTrump\u2019s\u200b Mar-a-Lago\u2063 home \u200din Florida \u2064to recover what authorities \u200cbelieved would \u2063be \u2062classified documents in Mr. Trump\u2019s\u200b possession.<\/p>\n<p>In a \u200bheated \u2062appearance before\u2063 the House\u2064 Judiciary\u2062 Committee\u200c last week, \u2063Mr. Wray defended \u2063the\u2064 raid as \u2063the\u2062 \u201clawful execution of\u2064 a\u2063 search warrant.\u201d \u2063Mr.\u2063 Trump has publicly disagreed, \u200dsaying that\u200c his\u2062 conduct is \u2062protected \u200cby the\u200c Presidential Records Act \u2062and\u2064 that the\u200c case against \u200dhim, authorized\u200c by\u200d President \u200dJoe Biden\u2019s Department of\u200d Justice (DOJ), amounts\u200d to \u200dlittle\u200d more\u2063 than a political \u201cwitch\u200c hunt.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Tremendously \u200cPolitical\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Mr. Trump\u2062 fit the comments into his larger\u200b concerns with\u200b the FBI \u200cand \u200cDOJ, which he said \u200chave \u2064become \u201ctremendously \u2063political.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Trump is currently\u2063 facing \u206337\u2063 federal \u2063counts\u2062 due \u200bto\u2063 the allegations regarding his \u2062handling of documents, \u2062which\u200d he and\u2062 his supporters \u200dhave\u2063 characterized as an \u200deffort\u2062 to\u2064 hurt Republicans electorally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe\u2062 FBI has become tremendously political,\u201d Mr.\u200d Trump said. \u201cDOJ is \u2063weaponized.
