However, the law \u200cwas passed \u200cby\u200b the \u200cHouse on \u2062a near-party-line vote \u2064on \u2064Friday, with four Republicans voting against\u200d it and four \u200dDemocrats\u2064 voting for it.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d \u200b   <\/p>\n<p>Moderator Margaret\u200d Brennan \u2062hounded\u2063 the \u200crepresentative\u200b and\u2063 demanded\u200c additional information\u2063 about \u200bthe\u200b NDAA.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d    \u200c<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI want\u200c to start on\u2064 the National Defense Authorization Act,\u200d which passed \u200bthe Republican\u2064 controlled\u2064 House \u200cand it was\u2026 It drew a\u200d lot of \u2063attention this\u2063 week\u200d because of the \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-mccaul-believes-ndaa-will-become-a-bipartisan-bill\/\" title=\"Rep. McCaul expects the NDAA to gain bipartisan support.\">social policy \u2063issues\u2064 attached<\/a> \u2064to it. \u2062So this \u2062is a\u2062 bill, it \u200dpays \u2062military\u200d personnel,\u200c does things necessary \u2063for national\u200d security.\u200c Once\u2062 this \u200dgoes \u200dto the \u2064Senate,\u2062 they\u2019re going to chop out \u200dall \u200bthose things, you know that. It comes back\u2062 to\u2062 you\u200d in\u200c the \u2063House. Are you confident \u2062that Republicans\u2064 can\u200d get \u2063this necessary piece\u200b of legislation through without having\u2064 to \u200bturn to\u2062 Democrats to help you get it \u2064over the finish line?\u201d Brennan\u2062 said.<\/p>\n<p>\u200d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> \u200c   <blockquote\u200d class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>McCaul\u200c answered\u2062 by saying, \u201c\u2026We saw the session \u2062when the Democrats \u200bhad \u2063the\u200b majority, they passed\u200c a very partisan, \u200cyou know, NDAA bill, went over\u200b to the \u200cSenate, you \u2063know, I\u2019m\u2062 on the conference- we\u200d did\u200c the \u2064conference committee, and traditionally the more partisan minutes get \u2063stripped out. At \u2062the end of the day, this\u2064 always ends up\u2062 as \u200ca \u2064bipartisan bill. But \u200bthere were\u2064 some-\u2063 certain policies \u2064like \u2062for\u2063 instance,\u200c the \u2062Hyde Amendment\u200d since 1980 \u2062not \u200dto fund taxpayer\u200b abortions our members \u200dfelt was very important \u200dto \u2063put\u2063 in there.\u2064 I \u2063think\u2064 that\u2019s \u200cone that will survive.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>  \u2064 \u2064 <\/p>\n<p>The back-and-fourth\u200d conversation between the \u2064two continued on.<\/p>\n<p> \u2063  \u200c <\/p>\n<blockquote \u200dclass=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Brennan: \u201cWell,\u2063 you\u2019re talking about the provision that would restrict \u200cfunding \u200cto allow\u2063 service\u200d members to travel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>   \u2064\u2063 <\/p>\n<p>McCaul: And pay expenses, \u2062yeah.<\/p>\n<p> \u2062  \u200c <\/p>\n<p>Brennan: But\u200b it \u200ddoesn\u2019t in\u2062 any way, the Pentagon policy,\u200b fund\u200c abortions.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b  \u2064  <\/p>\n<p>McCaul: Well,\u2063 you know, I wish they hadn\u2019t\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2062   \u2063 <\/p>\n<p>Brennan: Or fertility services.<\/p>\n<p>\u2062 <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>  \u2063\u2064  <\/p>\n<p>Even if\u2064 other\u2064 contentious additions are\u2062 removed from the final measure, McCaul\u2063 went on\u2064 to explain that\u200d he strongly\u200b feels the\u2062 provision that prohibits\u200c the Pentagon from\u200d supporting\u2062 travel\u2064 fees for \u200dmilitary personnel seeking \u2062abortions outside of the\u2064 state would be \u201cone that will survive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u200c   \u200c\u200d <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIt \u200cwill be a \u200bbipartisan bill,\u201d \u2062he \u2064repeated himself.\u200c \u201cI think \u2064there\u2019s\u200d nothing more important\u200c than our national \u2063defense\u2064 and our \u200dmilitary.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u200b  \u2063  \u200d<\/p>\n<p>Other GOP policy revisions that \u2064were\u2064 approved included the rejection of \u200dhealthcare \u2063coverage for \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/aclu-sues-abbott-over-directive-to-investigate-transgender-procedures-as-child-abuse\/\" title=\"ACLU Sues Abbott Over Directive To Investigate Transgender Procedures As Child Abuse\">sex reassignment procedures<\/a> and hormone therapies for service\u200c members who identified as\u2062 transgender, as well as the dismantling\u2063 of \u2062the \u2063Pentagon\u2019s diversity, equality, and inclusion\u2063 (DEI) offices and staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u2064 \u200c  \u2062 <\/p>\n<p>The\u200b Democrat-controlled Senate is \u200dreportedly set\u200d to \u2063begin debating \u200dthe\u200c plans sometime this\u200b week.<\/p>\n<p> \u2064 \u2064 \u200c <\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 House \u200drejected \u200bproposals\u2062 involving U.S. assistance to Ukraine \u200dby wide margins, as well as a\u2063 proposal from \u200cRep.\u2062 Marjorie \u2063Taylor Greene \u2062(R-Ga.) \u2063to \u200dprohibit the\u2064 U.S.\u2062 from \u2064providing cluster \u200dbombs to Ukraine and\u2063 another from Rep.\u2064 Matt \u2063Gaetz (R-Fla.)\u2063 who\u200b hoped \u200bto\u2064 halt \u200bsecurity\u200b assistance to Ukraine during its \u200congoing war with Russia.<\/p>\n<p>   \u2062 <blockquote\u2064 class=\"wp-block-quote\"> \u2062<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very\u200c dangerous \u2064to \u2062have\u200d these amendments when \u2063Ukraine \u2062is \u200bin the\u2063 crossfire \u2062trying to push the aggression \u2063of Russia back in the\u2064 counteroffensive,\u201d\u200d McCaul said.\u200c \u201cIt\u200b
