In a\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/schumer-introduces-bipartisan-measure-to-declassify-ufo-records\/\" title=\"Schumer proposes bipartisan bill to declassify UFO files.\">recent\u2063 interview<\/a> with Fox News&#8217;s Maria Bartiromo on\u200c Sunday\u200b Morning Futures, Trump\u200c pushed back\u2063 against the\u200d notion that he \u200bdidn&#8217;t fulfill this promise.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n \u200c <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I fired [former FBI \u2063Director\u200c James] Comey. I fired\u200c a lot of people. A lot of \u2062the people I had,\u200c I fired. I \u2063fired\u200d Comey\u200d very early. And, you know, there was a question \u200cas\u200c to whether or \u2062not you\u2064 could. But\u200c I\u200c fired\u200c Comey. If I didn\u2019t\u2063 fire \u2063Comey, \u2062I don\u2019t think \u200bI\u200d would \u2064have been able to serve\u200b out my\u2062 term because that was a plot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bartiromo, not one \u2063to back\u2064 down, questioned Trump about his \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/is-anyone-more-annoying-or-treacherous-than-barack-obama\/\" title=\"Is Anyone More Annoying or Treacherous than Barack Obama?\">track record<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-rejects-idea-that-he-didnt-drain-the-swamp-in-first-term-2\/\" title=\"Trump denies not 'draining the swamp' in first term.\">hiring staff\u200b members<\/a> who later spoke\u200d out\u200d against him, such \u200bas former Attorney General Bill Barr and \u200dformer Secretary of Defense Mark \u2063Esper. \u200dShe asked what he\u2064 would\u200d do differently if \u2063he were to be elected for\u200b a \u2063second term.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The mistake would be people,&#8221; Trump\u200b responded, \u200dreferring to\u200d some of\u2062 his personnel choices. &#8220;I \u2062mean,\u200c I\u2062 wouldn&#8217;t \u2063have put a guy like\u2063 Bill \u200cBarr; \u2063he was weak \u2064and \u2063pathetic. I wouldn&#8217;t\u200d have\u2062 put\u2064 [former\u2063 Attorney \u200bGeneral] Jeff \u200bSessions. And there are some people that \u200dI\u200c wouldn&#8217;t have put in. You know,\u200b most people\u2062 were \u2063good, \u2063but I \u2063had some people&#8230; \u200bwe had\u200b [former\u2063 Secretary of Defense] \u200dMark\u2062 Esper. I \u2062didn&#8217;t like him. He was incompetent. I thought\u2063 we had other people \u2064I \u200cdidn&#8217;t \u200blike.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bartiromo pressed further, asking why Trump\u2062 had chosen\u2062 these individuals for \u200cthe \u200bjob in the first place.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I \u2062didn&#8217;t know the \u2064people,&#8221;\u200b Trump admitted. &#8220;I know the \u2062people now better\u200c than anybody\u2064 has \u200cever known. The\u200d people I know, the good ones, the bad\u200b ones,\u200d the \u200ddumb \u200bones, the smart ones.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite the ongoing debates and criticisms, Trump\u2063 remains\u2062 non-committal about attending the first\u2063 Republican presidential candidate debate. With a\u2062 substantial \u2062lead \u2062ahead\u200c of other GOP candidates, he believes\u2062 he doesn&#8217;t need to\u200b participate.<\/p>\n<p>A recent analysis of \u200bpolls by RealClearPolitics shows Trump leading in\u200d all of them,\u2063 with\u2064 an average of \u200c53%. He holds a significant 32.4% lead \u200cover\u200c Gov.
