ballots\u2064 in\u2062 the middle \u2063of printing a batch of ballots&#8230;\u2062 none of\u2064 the technical people \u200dwith\u2063 whom we \u200cspoke \u2064could explain how or \u2064why that error occurred.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>An\u200d expert for Lake testified that this \u2064&#8221;error&#8221;\u200c could \u2063only\u2062 result\u200c from \u200dmalware or remote\u200d access, resulting \u200bin at least 8,000 misconfigured ballots, the majority of \u200cwhich were neither \u2063duplicated nor counted.<\/p>\n<p>\u200c  <\/p>\n<p>The defendants in the\u2064 case, \u2064including Maricopa County\u2062 officials and the Arizona secretary of state&#8217;s office, \u2062have not\u200c issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rick-wilson-threatens-critics-in-exclusive-straw-man-defense-of-embattled-lincoln-project\/\" title=\"Rick Wilson Threatens Critics in \u2018Exclusive\u2019 Straw Man Defense of Embattled Lincoln Project\">public response<\/a> or filing in the case.<\/p>\n<p> \u2063 <\/p>\n<h2>Courts \u2062Have Little \u200bAppetite<\/h2>\n<p>While \u200csome of Lake&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-donald-trump-job-approval-shifts-to-52-percent\/\" title=\"Poll: Donald Trump Job Approval Shifts to 52 Percent\">legal challenges<\/a> have been rejected by state courts, \u200cshe remains determined\u2062 and has expressed her \u2063willingness to take her lawsuit to \u200bthe \u200dU.S. \u200cSupreme \u200dCourt\u2062 if necessary.\u200b However,\u200b the top\u2062 court has shown \u2063little interest in\u200c taking up\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-says-election-challenges-not-over-as-electoral-college-vote-looms\/\" title=\"Trump Says Election Challenges \u2018Not Over\u2019 as Electoral College Vote Looms\">election challenges<\/a> \u200csince late 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is, \u2063I\u200c believe, our \u2063best \u2064hope to\u2063 bring about\u200b reform in our \u2064elections: my case,&#8221; \u200dLake said in \u2064a recent interview. &#8220;I believe it&#8217;s\u200c the greatest election\u200b case. We have \u200bthe\u2064 truth\u200b on our side. We \u2064have tons of \u200devidence. \u200dYes, we haven&#8217;t had a judge \u2064rule in \u200cour \u2063favor. \u200dBut it takes a lot of courage to\u200d make the\u200c right ruling on this case.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u200c  \u2062<\/p>\n<p>Lake\u2063 has never\u2062 conceded the\u2062 race to\u2064 Democrat Gov.\u2062 Katie Hobbs,\u200b who took office earlier\u200b this year.\u200b Additionally, \u2063she \u2064has \u2064hinted at \u2064the possibility of running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by former Democratic Sen. Kyrsten \u2062Sinema\u2062 (I-Ariz.), potentially \u200dcreating\u2064 a three-way race between Lake, \u2062Sinema, and Rep. Reuben Gallego (D-Ariz.).<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/probe-finds-ore-state-dem-created-hostile-work-environment\/\" title=\"Probe finds Ore. state Dem created hostile work environment\">separate case<\/a>, another court has\u200c ordered \u2062Lake&#8217;s team and\u200b former Secretary of State candidate Mark Finchem&#8217;s team to pay $122,200 in\u200c sanctions. \u2062U.S.\u200b District Judge John \u2062Tuchi in Phoenix stated that former Harvard\u2063 Law \u2062professor Alan \u200cDershowitz is also\u200c responsible\u200d for about 10 \u2062percent of \u200dthe fine, as \u200dhe signed off on several legal\u2064 documents in the case.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Failing to impose meaningful\u2064 sanctions here might very\u2064 well encourage others to follow suit \u200dby lending their credibility to \u200ddocuments\u2064 filed in court without consequences,&#8221; \u2062Judge Tuchi \u2063wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican candidate Kari Lake appealed to the Arizona Supreme Court, arguing that 8,000 unreadable ballots were improperly configured during the previous midterms.
