During the hearing, the authors claimed to have &#8220;changed their minds&#8221; due to new data, but the emails and Slack messages tell a different story.<\/p>\n<p>One of the authors, Kristian Andersen, expressed his belief in a February 2020 Slack message that the virus could have leaked from a lab rather than emerging naturally from a wet market. However, his colleague Andrew Rambaut discouraged speculation, stating that without irrefutable evidence, the truth would never come out.
