In a unanimous vote this week, Russ Gordon and Cathy Stackpoole were kicked off of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/woke-diversity-advocates-accuse-dj-of-wearing-blackface-hes-actually-black\/\" title=\"Woke Diversity Advocates Accuse DJ Of Wearing Blackface. He\u2019s Actually Black.\">human relations commission<\/a> after the council said the pair were responsible for flying a Pride flag on government property.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThis Council believes in fairness, neutrality towards our residents, and the rule of law, amongst other things for this community. We passed a resolution recently to do just that, and two of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rule-of-law-michigan-city-officials-fired-over-pride-flag-violation\/\" title=\"Michigan city officials fired for violating Pride flag rules.\">sworn commissioners outright defied<\/a> it, and did what they wanted,\u201d Council member Khalil Refai <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/michigan-city-commissioners-removed-flying-pride-flag-violation-ordinance-defied-rule-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> Fox News in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Refai added that the council considered the flying of the LGBT flag a violation of the city\u2019s trust.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were elected by the people of the community to make these decisions, and they not only violated the resolution but the trust of the whole community by doing this. For this reason, Council felt the appropriate response was to remove them from their public positions of trust,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The human relations commission is supposed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox2detroit.com\/news\/hamtramck-commissioners-removed-after-flying-pride-flag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">encourage<\/a> \u201ctolerance,\u201d \u201cmulticulturalism,\u201d and \u201cconstructive communication.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The city of about 28,000 near Detroit has a history of conflicts over LGBT ideology. As far back as 2008, conservative Christians in the community <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/news\/local\/michigan\/wayne\/2016\/01\/24\/muslim-majority-council-reflects-hamtramck-diversity\/78438858\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">joined<\/span><\/a> with the local Muslim community to oppose a city ordinance that would include the LGBT community as a protected group.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution to ban ideological flags from the Michigan city\u2019s property was introduced in June by Councilman Mohammed Hassan.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The issue of the \u201cPride\u201d flag has divided communities across the country, especially in some school districts where teachers have been found to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-young-disneyland-cast-member-tells-crowd-protesting-at-disney-hq-it-is-okay-to-stand-up-for-righteousness-youre-not-alone\/\" title=\"WATCH: Young Disneyland \u2018Cast Member\u2019 Tells Crowd Protesting At Disney HQ: \u2018It Is Okay To Stand Up For Righteousness \u2026 You\u2019re Not Alone\u2019\">promoting gender ideology<\/a> and encouraging students to \u201ctransition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A county board of education in Maryland narrowly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/maryland-county-narrowly-rejects-proposal-that-would-ban-pride-blm-flags\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected a proposal<\/a> this week that would have banned the display of all non-governmental flags, which would include Pride and Black Lives Matter (BLM) flags.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the Anne Arundel County Board of Education voted 4-3 to reject a policy banning the display of all non-governmental flags on school property.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>recent decision, the Hamtramck Human Relations Commission removed two officials for breaching a city ordinance that prohibits the exhibition of LGBT Pride flags on city premises.
