Both centers list gender affirming care as an available service.<\/p>\n<p>They are operated by <strong>Country Doctor Community Health Centers<\/strong>, a local nonprofit that offers cross-sex hormones and gender surgery referrals.<\/p>\n<p>Country Doctor provides medications like estrogen, androgen blockers, and testosterone, including hormone therapy for adolescents and specialty referrals for younger patients as needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;We do not provide puberty blockers at this time,&#8221;<\/strong> Country Doctor says.<\/p>\n<p>The nonprofit also provides surgery referrals for genital and other gender surgeries and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/seattle-public-school-students-get-free-gender-affirming-care-at-campus-health-centers\/\" title=\"Seattle students receive free gender-affirming care at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ohio-invests-26-million-in-school-health-centers\/\" title=\"Ohio Invests  Million in School Health Centers\">school health centers<\/a>.&#8221;>helps obtain mental health letters<\/a> of support for gender procedures and behavioral counseling.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our mission is to promote health in transgender, non-binary and gender diverse communities through ensuring equal access to gender-affirming medications and procedures, and training staff to be trauma-informed and culturally responsive,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear whether every service listed on Country Doctor Community Health Centers\u2019 website is offered at the nonprofit\u2019s two in-school health centers in Seattle.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Concerns Raised by Parents Defending Education<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/defendinged.org\/incidents\/seattle-public-schools-school-based-health-centers-offer-middle-and-high-school-students-access-to-gender-affirming-care-that-includes-hormone-therapy-and-referrals-for-surgeries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Parents Defending Education<\/a> first sounded the alarm about the Seattle public school health centers offering transgender services to students.<\/p>\n<p>The Nova Wellness Center states on the school\u2019s official website, <strong>&#8220;The Nova Wellness Center offers no cost comprehensive, trauma-informed, and gender affirming care, conveniently at the school.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Meany Health Center also touts offering its medical and behavioral health services at no cost, conveniently at the school.<\/p>\n<p>Both health centers say they bill services to insurance if students have it, and there are never any co-pays to worry about, but they also offer services to students and families without insurance.<\/p>\n<p>The Meany Middle School health center also says it is partially funded through the Seattle government\u2019s Family and Education <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/education-lab\/three-months-into-seattles-new-600-million-plus-education-levy-where-has-the-money-been-going\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Levy<\/a>. The Nova High School health center says it is staffed by a full-time clinic administrator, medical providers, and a behavioral health specialist.<\/p>\n<p>Both school health centers say they also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-to-issue-pro-abortion-executive-order-to-protect-access-nationwide\/\" title=\"Biden to Issue Pro-Abortion Executive Order to \"Protect Access Nationwide\"\">offer reproductive health care<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Health Risks and Growing Trend<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Cross-sex hormones come with serious health risks.<\/strong> They can cause infertility, deadly blood clots, heart attacks, increased cancer risks of the breasts and ovaries, liver dysfunction, worsening psychological illness, and other serious conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of teen girls in the U.S., some as young as 12, have gotten elective, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-childrens-hospital-performs-sex-change-procedures-on-children-as-young-as-11-report\/\" title=\"Texas Children's Hospital does sex change surgeries on kids as young as 11, says report.\">gender-related double mastectomies<\/a> to remove their healthy breasts over the last few years.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, it is more popular than ever for youth to adopt new gender identities.
