Most recently, The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/biz\/news\/sag-aftra-talks-break-down-1235658176\/\">announced<\/a> that its negotiating committee had voted unanimously to recommend its 160,000 members go on strike, joining the writers. The union is set to hold a press conference on Thursday afternoon when an official announcement is expected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This move would basically halt all TV and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nichols-corporate-activism-has-the-potential-to-cause-major-positive-changes\/\" title=\"NICHOLS: Corporate Activism Has The Potential To Cause Major Positive Changes\">movie production<\/a> until an agreement is reached.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;It&#8217;s very disturbing to me. We&#8217;ve talked about disruptive forces on this business and all the challenges we&#8217;re facing, the recovery from COVID which is ongoing, it&#8217;s not completely back. This is the worst time in the world to add to that disruption,&#8221; Iger said of the situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;I understand any labor organization&#8217;s desire to work on behalf of its members to get the most compensation and be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disney-ceo-bob-iger-says-writers-and-actors-are-not-realistic-with-demands-its-very-disturbing-to-me\/\" title=\"Disney CEO Bob Iger finds writers and actors' demands unrealistic and deeply concerning.\">compensated fairly based<\/a> on the value that they deliver. There&#8217;s a level of expectation that they have, that is just not realistic,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And they are adding to the set of challenges that this business is already facing that is, quite frankly, very disruptive.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Iger said that unions have a right to &#8220;get as much as they possibly can in compensation for their people.&#8221; Even so, he warns that these individuals should &#8220;be realistic about the business environment, and what this business can deliver.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Iger said, &#8220;It will have a very, very damaging effect on the whole business, and unfortunately, there&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ny-post-editorial-board-bidens-immigration-insanity-is-breaking-the-nation\/\" title=\"NY Post Editorial Board: Biden\u2019s Immigration Insanity Is Breaking the Nation\">huge collateral damage<\/a> in the industry to people who are supportive services, and I could go on and on.
