Joe Manchin Considering 2024 Presidential Bid<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said he\u2019s \u201cnever ruled out anything\u201d regarding a 2024 presidential bid as he prepares to give a keynote address at a New Hampshire town hall event sponsored by a political group pushing for a third-party ticket.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manchin will <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nolabels.org\/common-sense-town-hall-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">speak<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at Saint Anselm College in Manchester on Monday in an event by No Labels, where the political group will release its \u201cCommon Sense\u201d policy booklet. The Democratic senator has been mulling a presidential run for months as he faces a daunting re-election bid in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/josh-hammer-florida-the-new-capital-of-red-state-america\/\" title=\"Josh Hammer: Florida, the New Capital of Red State America\">dark red state<\/a>. The town hall will push No Label\u2019s stated mission of \u201cbipartisanship\u201d with political parties drifting toward extremes as Manchin will join former Republican Governor John Huntsman at the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt is clear that most Americans are exceedingly frustrated by the growing divide in our political parties and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whos-really-to-blame-for-misinformation-online\/\" title=\"Who\u2019s Really\u00a0To Blame For Misinformation Online?\u00a0\">toxic political rhetoric<\/a> from our elected leaders,\u201d Manchin said. \u201cOur political discourse is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/manchin-headlines-no-labels-town-hall-in-new-hampshire-as-he-weighs-third-party-bid\/\" title=\"Manchin leads No Labels town hall in NH, ponders third-party run.\">lacking engaged debates<\/a> around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fmr-hud-secy-carson-announces-launch-of-new-conservative-non-profit\/\" title=\"Fmr. The things that unite Americans are much stronger than the things that divide us and I am confident that will be evident throughout our discussion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some Democrats are concerned that Manchin or another candidate boosted by No Labels will launch a third-party bid that could potentially damage President Joe Biden\u2019s re-election chances. No Labels released private polling showing that a third-party candidate would pull more votes away from Biden than from former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical matchup, The Washington Post <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/07\/11\/gephardt-no-labels-third-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cNo Labels equals Trump,\u201d said Greg Schneiders, a former aide to President Jimmy Carter. \u201cIt is going to affect the race and it is going to affect it negatively for Biden, and it is probably going to elect Donald Trump.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manchin\u2019s colleague Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said he wasn\u2019t giving much thought to the third-party group but voiced concern that it could help Republicans in 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt strikes me as a Republican front group,\u201d he <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rollcall.com\/2023\/07\/12\/manchin-to-speak-at-no-labels-town-hall-in-new-hampshire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, according to Roll Call. \u201cIt\u2019s way too early to know what the impact is going to be or whether they\u2019ll actually run a candidate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Biden faces primary challenges from two candidates within his party, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2024\/president\/us\/24_democratic_presidential_nomination-8171.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">early polls<\/a> put Biden far out of reach of any potential upset. Democrats have also voiced <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4091419-democratic-jitters-grow-over-cornel-wests-third-party-bid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">concern<\/a> over a leftist who has already announced a third-party presidential bid. Cornel West, an Ivy League academic, is running as a Green Party, and Democrats fear the candidate will take votes away from Biden, similar to how Green Party candidate Jill Stein hurt Hillary Clinton in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A decision from Manchin will have to come soon as West Virginia Republican Governor Jim Justice has already launched his campaign for the Senate and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4091759-jim-justice-rakes-in-close-to-1m-in-second-quarter-for-manchins-senate-seat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">raked in<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> nearly $1 million in the second quarter of fundraising. Manchin said he would decide on a bid to keep his Senate seat later this year as Democratic leadership is encouraging him to run again as the party faces an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/04\/30\/politics\/senate-race-rankings-may-elections\/index.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">uphill battle<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in 2024 to maintain its Senate majority.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
