Chris Coons, from Biden\u2019s home state of Delaware, convinced Manchin that his vote could appease the radical elements within the party who had been strongly critical of him. However, the outcome was predictable.<\/p>\n<p>The promises made by Manchin\u2019s own party members regarding reforms <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/us-policy\/2022\/07\/30\/climate-spending-agenda-senate-democrats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were not fulfilled<\/a>, and the White House\u2019s opposition to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-manchin-about-to-exact-revenge-on-dems-third-party-presidential-run-could-be-imminent\/\" title=\"Is Joe Manchin Planning a Third-Party Presidential Run as Revenge Against Dems?\">coal industry persisted<\/a>. According to a report Tuesday in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/07\/11\/gephardt-no-labels-third-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a>, former Democratic Rep. Richard Gephardt is expected to announce a group next week specifically to battle the No Labels effort.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo Labels equals Trump,\u201d Greg Schneiders, a former aide to President Jimmy Carter who now runs a polling group that has done early work for the the Gephardt group, told the Post. \u201cIt is going to affect the race and it is going to affect it negatively for Biden, and it is probably going to elect Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A New York Times\/Siena College poll, reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/07\/11\/us\/politics\/biden-approval-polling-2024.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">by the Times<\/a> on Tuesday, revealed that 64 percent of Democratic voters would prefer a new candidate in the 2024 presidential campaign.<\/p>\n<p>That means a potential third party in the race is not good news for the Democrats.
