Version: 4.0.47--><h2>A Christian Social Worker Takes Legal Action After Job Offer is Rescinded Due to His Christian Views<\/h2>\n<p>A Christian social worker in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/united-kingdom\">U.K.<\/a> is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/n-m-widower-sues-alburquerque-over-sanctuary-city-policy\/\" title=\"N.M. widower sues Alburquerque over sanctuary city policy\">taking legal action<\/a> after his job offer was rescinded for his Christian views of sexuality and marriage.<\/p>\n<p>Felix Ngole was offered his \u201cdream job\u201d as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/christian-social-worker-sues-after-losing-job-offer-told-he-must-embrace-and-promote-homosexual-rights\/\" title=\"Christian social worker sues over job offer rejection due to refusal to support LGBTQ+ rights.\">mental health support worker<\/a> at Touchstone Support Leeds, a charity <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/services\/service-directory\/touchstone\/N10499434\">partnered<\/a> with the U.K.\u2019s National Health Service (NHS), but weeks later, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12278659\/Christian-job-offer-rescinded-company-learns-victory-free-speech-case.html\">rescinded<\/a> the offer when it found out about his Christian beliefs and past victory in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsom-california-agree-to-pay-more-churches-in-settlements-over-lockdown-discrimination\/\" title=\"Newsom, California Agree To Pay More Churches In Settlements Over Lockdown Discrimination\">religious liberty case<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Several weeks after receiving his acceptance letter, he received an email from Touchstone Deputy CEO Kathryn Hart, saying he was not fit for the position because the company had \u201cidentified some significant areas and concerns\u201d that did not \u201calign with Touchstone Leeds\u2019 ethos and values.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Strong Views and Discrimination<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cIn particular, we can see that you have very strong views against homosexuality and same-sex marriage, which completely go against the views of Touchstone, an organisation committed to actively promoting and supporting LGBTQ+ rights,\u201d Hart continued.<\/p>\n<p>She said that she would reconsider if he would embrace Touchstone\u2019s values, including \u201cthe promotion of homosexual rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The father of three was then invited to a meeting with Hart and the company\u2019s operations director, Dave Pickard, who questioned him intensely about his beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>Ngole, who fled persecution in Cameroon, compared the questioning to interrogations he experienced in his home country. \u201cThey called it a discussion but it felt like I was being interrogated back in Cameroon,\u201d he said. \u201cEvery question had an LGBT slant. \u2026 I think they were concerned that employing me could risk their Stonewall ranking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I cannot do, and you cannot reasonably expect me to do without yourselves being discriminatory, is make my participation in the \u2018promotion of homosexual rights\u2019 a condition of my employment,\u201d Ngole responded in the meeting, assuring them he would not discriminate against anyone.<\/p>\n<p>A week after the meeting, he received an email from the company officially rescinding his job offer, stating that his beliefs would be \u201cupsetting and offensive\u201d to their patients and would \u201cexacerbate \u2026 [their] anxiety and depression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/touchstonesupport.org.uk\/about-us\/senior-leadership-team\/\">Touchstone Support<\/a> boasts its \u201cTop 100 LGBTQ+ Inclusive Employer\u201d ranking and \u201cGold\u201d award from the controversial organization <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stonewall.org.uk\/\">Stonewall<\/a>, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stonewall.org.uk\/join-diversity-champions-programme\">promotes<\/a> left-wing LGBTQ agenda items in workplaces. The company\u2019s logo even dons the Pride and transgender flags\u2019 colors.<\/p>\n<h3>Pursuing Legal Action<\/h3>\n<p>Ngole is now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/candy-or-cannabis-new-study-warns-of-edibles-in-copycat-packaging\/\" title=\"Candy Or Cannabis? New Study Warns Of Edibles In \u2018Copycat Packaging\u2019\">pursuing legal action<\/a> against the organization under the U.K. Equality Act, which forbids discrimination on the basis of religion.<\/p>\n<p>Andrea Williams, of the Christian Legal Centre, which is representing Ngole, said, \u201cTelling an employee they must \u2019embrace and promote\u2019 homosexuality as a condition of employment sets a dark and troubling precedent. If left unchallenged it would see Christians who manifest their beliefs barred from working in the NHS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Centre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/christian-social-worker-takes-legal-action-job-withdrawn-told-embrace-promote-lgbt-rights\">said<\/a> that he was \u201cthe best performing candidate in interview, gaining the highest marks of any candidate on an equality and diversity assessment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Religious discrimination is not new for Ngole, as he won a case against the University of Sheffield, which had expelled him for his Christian beliefs. In 2016, the university expelled him for quoting Bible verses about homosexuality in a Facebook discussion and told him not to express his views, even in church, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.cbn.com\/news\/world\/british-court-upholds-right-christians-freely-express-their-faith\">CBN News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The U.K. Court of Appeal rebuked the university in a landmark free speech victory, saying, \u201cThe mere expression of religious views about sin does not necessarily connote discrimination.\u201d The Court of Appeal also found that Ngole would \u201cnever discriminate against anyone\u201d because of his religious views. His victory in the case played a role in the offer being rescinded, according to The Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<p>This type of discrimination is on the rise in the U.K., <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.cbn.com\/news\/world\/christian-social-worker-uk-denied-job-refusing-pledge-allegiance-lgbt-flag\">according<\/a> to Williams. \u201cWhat we see here is the confident totalitarianism of an organization that has been captured by Stonewall and will do anything to keep their Stonewall ranking as high as possible,\u201d she said. \u201cViewpoint discrimination is escalating in the UK at an alarming rate \u2026 Anyone who does not comply and celebrate LGBT ideology must become a \u2018non-person.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Viewpoint discrimination is a rising concern for British politicians. As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/u-k-bank-refuses-to-open-account-for-conservative-parent-group-report\">reported<\/a>, U.K. banks backed by the Stonewall group have denied or shut individuals\u2019 accounts for their political views or positions.
