Jordan outlined a list of demands for the appropriations legislation in an 11-page letter delivered on Tuesday, which was acquired by the Washington Examiner. It also included verbiage regarding salary payments of FBI or Justice Department officials who applied these tactics.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, he requested that funding for a new FBI headquarters not be granted until it is relocated to Huntsville, Alabama.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe Committee remains concerned about the politicization of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-jordan-says-moving-fbi-headquarters-out-of-washington-will-depoliticize-agency\/\" title=\"Rep. Jordan: Relocating FBI HQ from Washington will remove politics from the agency.\">federal law enforcement power emanating<\/a> from FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.,\u201d the letter reads. \u201cThe centralization of FBI operations in the National Capitol Region has led to duplication of activity best left to the respective field offices, contributed to reduced autonomy in local field offices, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jordan-threatens-funding-unless-new-fbi-hq-leaves-dc-area-and-he-has-a-suggestion\/\" title=\"Jordan Threatens Funding Unless New FBI HQ Leaves DC Area \u2014 And He Has A Suggestion\">allowed improper political influence<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rep-jordan-wants-congress-to-deny-funds-for-new-fbi-headquarters-unless-its-outside-of-washington\/\" title=\"Rep. Jordan insists on withholding funds for new FBI HQ unless it's relocated outside Washington.\">taint law enforcement investigations<\/a> and activity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Jordan also asserted that he wants to boost transparency at the FBI and DOJ by linking funding to specific policy adjustments at the FBI, such as mandating them to electronically record any interviews conducted in conjunction with a criminal investigation.
