Tommy Tuberville has been effectively preventing the promotion of hundreds of generals and flag officers over Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin\u2019s commitment to subsidize thousands of abortions for U.S. service members and their families.<\/p>\n<p>Tuberville isn\u2019t the only Republican senator who takes issue with Austin\u2019s advancement of the Biden administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lawyers-criticize-biden-admin-lawsuit-against-texas-over-heartbeat-bill\/\" title=\"Lawyers criticize Biden admin. lawsuit against Texas over \u2018heartbeat\u2019 bill\">radical abortion agenda<\/a>. But his crusade to keep taxpayer dollars from ending life in the womb, something a majority of Americans oppose, has been riddled with opposition from Democrats, corporate media, and top brass. Now, even senior members of his own party such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are throwing him under the bus.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-349743679\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-72d2c2a9ebb6dfed0ef369cedf9d4d56 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-72d2c2a9ebb6dfed0ef369cedf9d4d56\"><\/div>\n<p>The most recent wave of attacks on Tuberville\u2019s stonewalling center on a dishonest narrative that the Alabama legislator apparently \u201crefused to denounce\u201d white nationalism in a radio interview in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you believe they should allow white nationalists in the military?\u201d WBHM\u2019s Richard Banks asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, they call them that. I call them Americans,\u201d Tuberville replied.<\/p>\n<p>Tuberville\u2019s comments are not inaccurate. They are simply predicated on the fact that, under the Biden regime, smears like \u201cwhite nationalist,\u201d along with \u201cdomestic extremist\u201d and others, have been used by Democrats, their activist allies like the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League, and bureaucrats to justify targeting dissenters.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7a85fe036d255092b9a11c9f1d18ec4d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7a85fe036d255092b9a11c9f1d18ec4d\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe are losing in the military so fast. Our readiness in terms of recruitment. And why? I\u2019ll tell you why, because the Democrats are attacking our military, saying we need to get out the white extremists, the white nationalists, people that don\u2019t believe in our agenda, as Joe Biden\u2019s agenda. They\u2019re destroying it,\u201d Tuberville said in the initial interview.<\/p>\n<p>The senator also repeated this clarification in an exchange with CNN\u2019s Kaitlan Collins in mid-June.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m totally against anything to do with racism. But the thing about being a white nationalist \u2014 it\u2019s just a cover word for the Democrats now where they can use it to try to make people mad across the country, identity politics. I\u2019m totally against that,\u201d Tuberville said.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the truthful roots of Tuberville\u2019s quick response, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-scarborough-jesus-never-said-anything-about-killing-children\/\" title=\"Joe Scarborough: Jesus Never Said Anything About Killing Children\">bad-faith attacks<\/a> from all sides continued. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuberville\u2019s comments were \u201cdeeply and terribly disturbing.\u201d Lt. Gen. Tuberville why he continues to insist white nationalists are American. And he repeatedly tried to move on when pressed further,\u201d ABC\u2019s senior congressional reporter Rachel Scott complained on Twitter on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Her line of questioning led to a deluge of propaganda press pieces claiming Tuberville \u201cnow says \u2018White nationalists are racists\u2019 after refusing to denounce them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville on Tuesday said, simply and for the first time, that \u2018white nationalists are racists,\u2019\u201d the lede on ABC\u2019s article stated.<\/p>\n<h2>Performative Politicians<\/h2>\n<p>Instead of coming to Tuberville\u2019s aid, top Republicans have also begun to shun him from the sidelines using ammunition offered to them by Democrats and the corporate media.<\/p>\n<p>The only statement top Senate Republican McConnell made about the issue was not a defense of Tuberville or his important pro-life work, but a boilerplate condemnation of white supremacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhite supremacy is simply unacceptable in the military and in our whole country,\u201d McConnell told reporters in a Capitol hallway on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"qgsRqdONt42JhcAxv19JmeZoEiykQQ7ckW2VKtp6vhuaDrjg8ms36YBlW7ryUTD3NCGV0XfH8LAKISRfI5PndZEwb\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">REPORTER: &#8220;Do you have any concerns that you have a member of your conference, Sen. Tuberville, that seems to have a hard time denouncing white nationalism\u2026?  .<\/p>\n<p>MCCONNELL: &#8220;White Supremacy is simply unacceptable in the military and in our whole our country.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/muFjXjMZ6R\">pic.twitter.com\/muFjXjMZ6R<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breaking911 (@Breaking911) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Breaking911\/status\/1678854799175954433?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 11, 2023<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Senate Minority Whip John Thune said in another statement that the U.S. military would be impaired unless Tuberville let up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the longer this drags on, the more problematic it becomes for the military to function and operate in the way that I think the American people expect them to operate,\u201d Thune told reporters.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>McConnell\u2019s statement is weak and dishonest. Thune\u2019s is a blatant lie. He overlooks the fact that Austin could end this by simply rescinding his pledge to grant up to three weeks of paid time off and travel costs for his employees and their family members to obtain abortions. Thune also ignores the fact that the U.S. military faced a recruiting and identity crisis long before Tuberville moved to hold the Pentagon accountable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Pentagon\u2019s new abortion policy has everything to do with activist politics and nothing to do with Congress\u2019s obligation to raise and maintain armed forces to provide for the common defense,\u201d military policy experts retired Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin and retired Lt. Col. James J. Carafano wrote for The Federalist in May.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time Senate Republicans have balked at standing up to Democrats\u2019 abortion radicalism, one of their voters\u2019 top-line issues. In April, McConnell allies Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska sabotaged an opportunity to curb Democrats\u2019 radical abortion agenda by opposing a resolution authored by Tuberville that would stop the Biden administration\u2019s Department of Veterans Affairs from handing out abortions. Before that, they banded together to oppose Sen. Lindsey Graham and his federal pro-life legislation which would have finally brought the U.S. up to speed with the type of restrictions other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mcconnell-thune-join-bad-faith-dogpile-on-tuberville-for-fighting-militarys-taxpayer-funded-abortion-racket\/\" title=\"McConnell and Thune criticize Tuberville's stance on military-funded abortions.\">civilized countries enacted years ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tuberville has worked for months to keep the Pentagon from doing the Biden administration\u2019s bidding on abortion. For his efforts, he should be at least supported if not celebrated by the pro-life party. Instead, he is mocked, belittled, and abandoned by politicians who have proven over and over again that their commitment to preserving life in the womb is performative.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/psaki-refuses-to-guarantee-that-taxpayer-money-in-stimulus-bill-wont-go-toward-abortions\/\" title=\"Psaki Refuses To Guarantee That Taxpayer Money In Stimulus Bill Won\u2019t Go Toward Abortions\">pro-life organizations<\/a> and the millions of Americans who say their hard-earned tax dollars shouldn\u2019t be used to end life in the womb, Tuberville said he doesn\u2019t plan to give up the fight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m trying to get the attention of this Department of Defense and the White House. Listen to the people, listen to the people. I\u2019m not trying to hurt anybody.
