John Kennedy: Washington, D.C. Resembles a Scene from Mad Max<\/h2>\n<p>Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) expressed his concern about the current state of Washington, D.C., comparing it to the dystopian world depicted in the Mad Max film series. He attributed this transformation to the decision made by local lawmakers who believed that the police were a bigger problem than criminals.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLook, it is hard not to notice. I live here part-time,\u201d Kennedy told Fox News Tonight. \u201cThere are now streets in Washington, D.C., that look like they are out of a scene from Mad Max. It wasn\u2019t always that way. What happened? It\u2019s not quantum physics.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kennedy highlighted the decision made by D.C. lawmakers three years ago to defund the police, resulting in a $15 million budget cut. Their intention was to pursue justice, but Kennedy questioned the effectiveness of this approach.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThree years ago, D.C. lawmakers decided that cops were a bigger problem than criminals. So, they defunded the police \u2014 cut them $15 million. Those D.C. lawmakers said, \u2018We want justice.\u2019 Well, don\u2019t we all?\u201d Kennedy continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The senator emphasized the importance of maintaining order in society, stating that without it, justice cannot prevail. He argued that law enforcement plays a crucial role in stopping individuals who commit crimes.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cUnless you have a history of disappointing your parents, you know or should know that there are some people in this world \u2014 I don\u2019t know why \u2014 but they are not sick. They are not mixed up. They\u2019re not confused. It\u2019s not that their mother or father didn\u2019t love them enough,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cThey are just antisocial, and by that, I mean, they hurt other people. And they take other people\u2019s stuff. We have to separate them from society. Hugging them and giving them hot cocoa is not going to work.
