The Congressional Research Service attributes this backlog to &#8220;insufficient numbers of workers and facility constraints&#8221; at Naval shipyards, as well as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/critics-biden-infrastructure-plan-doesnt-address-cyber-security-threats-to-u-s-power-grid\/\" title=\"Critics: Biden infrastructure plan doesn\u2019t address cyber security threats to U.S. power grid\">supply chain issues<\/a>.&#8221; These delays not only hamper the force&#8217;s capacity to meet day-to-day mission demands but also potentially increase operational pressure on active boats.<\/p>\n<p>This statistic highlights the alarming level of unpreparedness of the U.S. Navy in the event of a conflict with China. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.usni.org\/2023\/05\/17\/report-to-congress-on-chinese-naval-modernization-17\">U.S. Naval Institute<\/a>, China&#8217;s Navy is currently the largest in the world and is projected to expand to 440 &#8220;battle force&#8221; ships by 2030. In contrast, the United States is expected to have only 290 battle force ships by the same year. Recent Pentagon war games have also revealed that the United States is <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/dozens-of-war-games-show-us-unprepared-for-horrifically-bloody-war-with-china\/\">woefully unprepared<\/a> for a potential conflict with China.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon Chang, a senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-energy-secretary-pick-called-out-by-republicans-for-democrats-awful-record-on-green-jobs-video\/\" title=\"Biden Energy Secretary Pick Called Out By Republicans For Democrats\u2019 Awful Record On \u2018Green Jobs\u2019 (VIDEO)\">expressed concerns<\/a> about the United States&#8217; readiness to face China. In an interview with Fox Business, Chang emphasized that it&#8217;s not just about having a larger Navy than China; it&#8217;s also about the types of weapons that China possesses, for which the United States currently lacks defenses.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-denounce-bidens-budget-but-havent-provided-an-alternative-of-their-own\/\" title=\"Republicans Denounce Biden\u2019s Budget, but Haven\u2019t Provided an Alternative of Their Own\">2024 budget proposal<\/a> has further raised concerns. It includes significant budget cuts to the Navy and the premature retirement of eight ships and two combat vessels, as <em>The Washington Free Beacon<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/national-security\/sinking-our-future-bidens-budget-cuts-funds-to-u-s-navy-as-china-ramps-up-shipbuilding\/\">reports<\/a>.
