That Should Scare Everyone.\">illegally leaking<\/a> insider information<\/a> about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/new-york-times-makes-huge-hunter-biden-admission-paragraph-21-lengthy-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunter\u2019s wrongdoing<\/a> to the paper used in its October 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2022\/10\/06\/hunter-biden-tax-gun-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">story<\/a> titled, \u201cFederal agents see chargeable tax, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-whistleblower-knocks-out-hunter-bidens-lawyers-and-the-washington-post-with-one-blow\/\" title=\"IRS Whistleblower Takes Down Hunter Biden's Lawyers and The Washington Post\">gun-purchase case<\/a> against Hunter Biden,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/courts-law\/irs-whistleblowers-lawyer-says-washington-post-could-become-accessory-hunter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Just the News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden attorney Abbe Lowell has been claiming that Shapley provided \u201cillegal leaks\u201d of government information and attacked the whistleblowers and saying they \u201cmay be claiming that title [of whistleblower] in an attempt to evade their own misconduct\u201d as part of \u201can obvious ploy to feed the misinformation campaign to harm our client, Hunter Biden, as a vehicle to attack his father.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Shapley says he was never in contact with the Post at all and has demanded that the paper speak up and confirm that he was not their source.<\/p>\n<p>His attorney, Empower Oversight President Tristan Leavitt, is calling on the paper to come clean.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cOther than saying, \u2018We don\u2019t comment on sources,\u2019 they haven\u2019t said anything so far,\u201d Leavitt told Just the News.<\/h3>\n<p>Leavitt also had a warning to the paper about besmirching the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/2-irs-agents-just-became-hunter-bidens-worst-nightmare-never-seen-career\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">whistleblowers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cAnd if they don\u2019t do anything, they\u2019re simply being accessories to the Hunter Biden legal defense,\u201d he insisted.<\/h3>\n<p>Leavitt has also sent a formal letter to the paper, saying, \u201cBiden family attorneys have falsely accused SSA Shapley of illegally leaking to you,\u201d the letter read. \u201cShapley was not a source for you on that story, or any other story for that matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be nice if you would publicly affirm that truth, and avoid becoming, through your silence, an accomplice in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-whistleblower-asks-media-outlet-to-clarify-he-was-not-a-source-for-hunter-biden-illegal-leaks\/\" title=\"IRS whistleblower denies being source of Hunter Biden 'illegal leaks', urges media outlet to clarify.\">media spreading false narratives dreamed<\/a> up by Biden family attorneys to intimidate and silence lawful whistleblowers like SSA Shapley,\u201d the letter added, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/irs-whistleblower-demands-washington-post-clear-his-good-name-hunter-biden-teams-defamatory-claims\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One would think this would be a no-brainer for a paper with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-claiming-democracy-dies-darkness-wapo-says-something-else-presidential-debates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">slogan<\/a> \u201cDemocracy dies in the darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If Shapley is lying and the paper does have proof he provided them with info, it would be a slam dunk for them to say so to give their usual editorial aid to Democrats. On the other hand, if it has proof that Shapley was not one of its sources for the story, they should reveal that so they can satisfy their pious proclamation that they bring \u201clight\u201d to the very democracy they claim to be guarding.<\/p>\n<p>Silence, though, simply makes them look like partisan liars.<\/p>\n<p>It isn\u2019t surprising that the biased paper is not keen on proving that Shapley is not a liar and did not provide any \u201cillegal leaks\u201d to the Post. After all, he has a lot of serious allegations in play.<\/p>\n<p>Shapley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-smoking-gun-gop-reveals-message-hunters-phone-seems-implicate-joe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">testified<\/a> to Congress in May and told officials that the Department of Justice conspired to shield Hunter Biden from a criminal probe.<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblower, who has been with the agency for 14 years, said he believed it was his duty to draw attention to the probe and said prosecutors were mishandling \u201ca high profile, controversial\u201d case.<\/p>\n<p>Shapley also told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-irs-whistleblower-breaks-silence-just-couldnt-silence-conscience-anymore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS News<\/a> last month that he was prevented from investigating Hunter Biden\u2019s money trails involving his \u201cdad\u201d or \u201cthe big guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were multiple steps that were slow-walked \u2014 were just completely not done \u2014 at the direction of the Department of Justice,\u201d Shapley told CBS News. \u201cWhen I took control of this particular investigation, I immediately saw deviations from the normal process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was way outside the norm of what I\u2019ve experienced in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If the U.S. Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service actually did put up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/republicans-ready-use-nuclear-option-garland-not-empty-threat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">barriers<\/a> to protect Joe Biden from investigations into criminal behavior, this is far bigger than Watergate ever was and is probably one of the biggest scandals in U.S. history.<\/p>\n<p>Why wouldn\u2019t the Post want to be part of this story?
