Wolf worked directly beneath Weiss on the Department of Justice and IRS probe into Biden\u2019s overseas business dealings and tax affairs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to other allegations about Wolf\u2019s role in the probe, Grassley\u2019s letter revealed an October 2020 briefing that Wolf allegedly received from the Department of Justice and FBI. The alleged briefing covered information the FBI obtained from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/questions-over-hunter-biden-probe-swirl-around-prosecutor-lesley-wolf-heres-what-you-need-to-know\/\" title=\"Questions about the Hunter Biden probe revolve around Prosecutor Lesley Wolf. Here's what you should know.\">confidential human source alleging<\/a> a foreign bribery scheme involving Biden and his father, President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[O]n October 23, 2020, Justice Department and FBI Special Agents from the Pittsburgh Field Office briefed Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf, one of your top prosecutors, and FBI Special Agents from the Baltimore Field Office with respect to the contents of the FBI-generated FD1023 alleging a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/that-would-be-a-crime-sen-hawley-says-we-must-see-document-allegedly-revealing-biden-criminal-bribery-scheme\/\" title=\"Sen. Hawley insists on seeing the document that allegedly exposes Biden's criminal bribery scheme, calling it a potential crime.\">criminal bribery scheme involving<\/a> then-Vice President Biden and Hunter Biden,\u201d the letter states, citing information from \u201cindividuals aware of the meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[H]owever, the meeting did not include any IRS agents,\u201d it says. A pair of IRS whistleblowers \u2013 both are investigators who worked on the agency team investigating Hunter\u2019s tax affairs \u2013 have stepped forward to Congress to allege that their investigation was hampered by Justice Department prosecutors, Wolf in particular.<\/p>\n<p>Grassley\u2019s Sunday letter requests information from the Justice Department on whether Wolf, alleged to have frustrated IRS investigators in multiple instances, blocked or played a part in blocking the investigation into the FD-1023, as well.<\/p>\n<p>IRS supervisory agent Gary Shapley, who oversaw the IRS investigation into Hunter, and another unnamed IRS agent <a href=\"https:\/\/waysandmeans.house.gov\/smith-testimony-of-irs-employees-reveals-biden-irs-doj-interfered-in-tax-investigation-of-hunter-biden-revealing-preferential-treatment-for-wealthy-and-politically-connected\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">testified<\/a> in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/footage-released-of-violent-myanmar-protests-after-at-least-38-people-killed\/\" title=\"Footage Released Of Violent Myanmar Protests After At Least 38 People Killed\">closed-door session<\/a> to the House Ways and Means Committee. The agents alleged a series of conflicts of interest and questionable decisions by Weiss\u2019s office and the Department of Justice that led to Hunter potentially getting a sweetheart deal and avoiding the worst of what the investigation turned up.<\/p>\n<p>According to a plea deal that a judge has not yet approved, Hunter has agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and enter a pretrial diversion program for a felony firearms violation. The firearms charge will be waived if he successfully completes the diversion program.<\/p>\n<p>At several significant junctions in the investigation, Shapley and the unnamed IRS agent alleged that Wolf undercut or blocked IRS investigators. Shapley alleged that Wolf instructed him not to pursue veins of investigation that could implicate President Biden, including asking about the identity of the \u201cBig Guy\u201d referenced in an email found on Hunter\u2019s laptop.<\/p>\n<p>Shapley attempted to obtain a search warrant for a guest house owned by the president that Hunter was staying in. IRS agents had reason to believe that they would find more evidence concerning alleged corrupt dealings by Hunter that implicated the president. Wolf denied them pursuing the warrant.<\/p>\n<p>Wolf \u201ctold us there was more than enough probable cause for the physical search warrant there, but the question was whether the juice was worth the squeeze,\u201d Shapley told the Ways and Means Committee. She said, \u201cthere is no way we will get [the warrant] approved,\u201d according to Shapley.<\/p>\n<p>IRS agents later prepared another affidavit to search a storage unit in Virginia that they believed contained other evidence of Hunter\u2019s dealings. \u201cAUSA Wolf once again objected,\u201d Shapley said. The IRS agents took their case to Weiss, who said they could raid the storage unit if it wasn\u2019t accessed for 30 days.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo sooner had we gotten off the call then we heard AUSA Wolf had simply reached out to Hunter Biden\u2019s defense counsel and told him about the storage unit, once again ruining our chance to get to evidence before being destroyed, manipulated, or concealed,\u201d Shapley said.<\/p>\n<p>Wolf is a longtime assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Delaware, starting work as an assistant U.S. attorney in 2006. Before taking that position, Wolf was a clerk for a George H. W. Bush-appointed district court judge, Anita Brody.
