(Photo by Elijah Nouvelage\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>OAN\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/brooke-mallory\">Brooke Mallory<\/a><\/h2>\n<h3>1:16 PM \u2013 Sunday, July 9, 2023<\/h3>\n<p>According to police and the affected homeowner, Georgia Mayor Khalid Kamau was jailed for reportedly breaking into a lake house he desired and approaching the terrified homeowner while yelling, \u201cDo you know who the f-k I am?\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>South Fulton Mayor Khalid Kamau was arrested on Saturday after a resident reported a trespasser at his property on Cascade Palmetto Highway at 6:52 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>While the victim was speaking with police, Kamau yelled at him many times, shouting, \u201cDo you know who the f-k I am?\u2026 I\u2019m the mayor, and I\u2019ll wait for my police to arrive and see what happens,\u201d WSB-TV reported.<\/p>\n<p>Kamau has since refrained from making any comment on the incident, instead complimenting the South Fulton Police Department for their quick reaction.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI do want to thank the South Fulton police and the staff of officers for their courteous and professional service throughout the day,\u201d he told reporters after being released from jail on an $11,000 bond.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the police report, the mayor told authorities he was on his way to a dog park when he stopped by the property, stating that it was his \u201cdream home\u201d and that he hoped to buy it one day.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor then revealed to authorities that he was aware that he was trespassing on the homeowner\u2019s property, however, he told an Atlanta-based news station that he thought the house had been \u201cabandoned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When the homeowner, who has not been named publicly, raced to get dressed and contacted police from inside his truck, he observed the mayor come up his driveway and approach the house.<\/p>\n<p>The home\u2019s owner then approached Kamau and held him at gunpoint until police came, urging the mayor to remain still.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cNo, motherf\u2013ker, you stay right there,\u201d the homeowner told him, according to Kamau.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the mayor, he apologized to the homeowner and explained who he was.
