With over 3,000 passengers and 1,000 crew members on board, the ship was scheduled to depart on Sunday. However, there is some uncertainty surrounding its departure.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cI see a big hole in the boat that\u2019s supposed to leave tomorrow at four,\u201d passenger Shannon Puuohau said on Saturday, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ktvu.com\/news\/do-we-stay-or-do-we-go-ruby-princess-passengers-face-decision-before-cruise-ship-departs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KTVU-TV<\/a>\u00a0in Oakland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a little nervous. I didn\u2019t realize what it looks like. I thought it was finished, and we were ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cThere\u2019s still a hole in the ship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Princess Cruises says the Ruby Princess will leave for Alaska Sunday at 4pm, adding the ship has been repaired.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not what people are seeing.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers have a decision to make. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and both guests and crew members were never in danger.<\/p>\n<p>Passenger Paul Zasso described the moment of impact, saying, \u201cI noticed we were spinning pretty quick, to be that close to the dock. I was mid-ship, portside, looked out the window, and we smacked into the dock.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Passenger Dilemma: To Stay or To Go?<\/h3>\n<p>The Ruby Princess was set to begin its next trip immediately after completing a 10<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/2021-cant-be-any-worse-can-it\/\" title=\"2021 Can't Be Any Worse, Can It?!\">-day cruise<\/a> to Alaska. They can receive a full refund and a 50% discount on their next cruise, or they can embark on a modified seven-day cruise with a 75% refund and a 75% discount on their next trip.<\/p>\n<p>Shirley Bartel has decided to proceed with her trip, stating, \u201cWhy not? We paid for this one, and now we\u2019re going to get paid for the next one. I have full faith we\u2019ll be safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, for others, the wait is becoming tiresome. Passenger Anita Lawhon expressed the growing restlessness among passengers, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s only been a day, so everyone\u2019s okay at this point, but I think people are getting antsy and ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Coast Guard is closely monitoring the repairs to ensure the vessel&#8217;s safety. Passenger Dan Faltings, though, remains skeptical, stating, \u201cThey do say work is being done, but I am standing above the hole. I can\u2019t see the hole, but I do know nothing is going on with it.
