Ron DeSantis, this time calling him a \u201cglobalist sellout\u201d who has \u201csided with communists.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>DeSantis is Trump\u2019s toughest challenger among Republican presidential candidates seeking nomination. While Trump continuously ranks as the top Republican candidate in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/post-indictment-poll-offers-incredible-news-trump-beats-biden-desantis-doesnt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most polls<\/a>, DeSantis follows in second place.<\/p>\n<p>Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-endorses-republican-ron-desantis-for-florida-governor-before-hes-even-announced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">praising DeSantis<\/a> in the past, Trump has recently begun increasing his attacks against the Florida governor for being \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-gets-asked-point-blank-make-desantis-vp-2024-said\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disloyal<\/a>\u201d by challenging him for the presidency.<\/p>\n<p>During the Friday campaign stop in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Trump touted himself as \u201cthe most pro-farmer president in history\u201d and claimed that a DeSantis presidency would be a \u201ccatastrophe\u201d for farmers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<h3>Trump&#8217;s Strong Words Against DeSantis<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI think no president has ever come close to me for fighting for farmers,\u201d Trump said in announcing the launch of a \u201cFarmers for Trump\u201d coalition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud to be the most pro-farmer president that you\u2019ve ever had in the White House,\u201d he said. \u201cWe did more for American agriculture than any administration in history by far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[DeSantis] would be a catastrophe for farmers of Nebraska and Iowa and anyplace else,\u201d Trump told the crowd, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsmax.com\/politics\/donald-trump-2024-elections\/2023\/07\/07\/id\/1126381\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsmax<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Florida governor was a Republican in the tradition of former House Speaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-releases-scathing-statement-response-rino-paul-ryan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Ryan<\/a>, one of his most prominent Republican opponents, or Karl Rove, the GOP strategist and White House adviser during the George W. Bush presidency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeSanctus, as I call him\u2026 is a globalist sellout, a Paul Ryan and Karl Rove acolyte who is in the pocket of Wall Street donors at the Club for No Growth,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know what I call them also: the Club for China Growth\u2026 They don\u2019t like me too much. They would outsource every American farming job to a foreign country. This is what Ron DeSanctimonious wants to do,\u201d he added, according to Newsmax.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clubforgrowth.org\/about\/what-we-do\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Club for Growth<\/a>, as it is actually called, is a conservative advocacy group that works to put \u201cmaximum pressure on lawmakers to vote like free-market, limited government conservatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group is apparently not keen on another Trump presidency, according to Newsmax, which described it as having \u201cwarmer relations\u201d with DeSantis.<\/p>\n<h3>DeSantis&#8217; Record and Response<\/h3>\n<p>Speaking to his Iowa audience, Trump touted his own support for ethanol additives to gasoline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[DeSantis] has been fighting for years \u2014 don\u2019t forget he was a congressman \u2014 to kill every single job supported by this very important industry,\u201d Trump said, referring to when DeSantis co-sponsored a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/114th-congress\/house-bill\/703\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bill<\/a> in 2017 that would have ended a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-claims-desantis-sided-with-communists-during-iowa-campaign-stop\/\" title=\"Trump accuses DeSantis of supporting communists in Iowa campaign.\">federal mandate requiring ethanol<\/a> be added to transportation fuel.<\/p>\n<p>Ethanol is primarily corn-based and its mandated use is a big boost to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/farmers-replaced-john-deere-aiming-fully-automated-row-farming-2030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">farming industry<\/a>. If its use in fuel is discontinued, then farmers could <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/barely-one-third-of-americans-support-how-biden-is-handling-russia\/\" title=\"Barely One-Third of Americans Support How Biden Is Handling Russia\">suffer significant losses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnding the renewable fuel standard was one of his top priorities as a member of Congress,\u201d Trump said, according to Newsmax. \u201cIf he had his way, the entire economy of Iowa would absolutely collapse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeSanctus slandered the ethanol mandate as \u2018socialism\u2019 and called his vicious plan to annihilate the Iowa farming industry a total no-brainer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump went on to claim that DeSantis opposed his 2018 tariffs on China, saying: \u201cDeSanctus sided with the communists in China; I sided with the farmers in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many on social media were quick to point out, however, that DeSantis actually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/florida-politics\/buzz\/2018\/07\/06\/with-china-threatening-citrus-in-trade-war-adam-putnam-praises-donald-trumps-tariffs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">praised Trump\u2019s tariffs<\/a> and has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-ron-desantis-becoming-major-voice-for-gop\/\" title=\"Gov.
