According to Carlson, the former chief of the U.S. Capitol Police informed him that the crowd was &#8220;filled with federal agents.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>During the podcast, Brand asked Carlson for his opinion on the events of Jan. 6 and why there is an ongoing attempt to label it as a deliberate insurrection. Carlson, who had a personal interest in the matter as one of his children was working on Capitol Hill that day, expressed his opposition to any violence but provided context by highlighting that more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-secretary-of-state-investigating-voter-registration-group-run-by-democrat-raphael-warnock\/\" title=\"Georgia Secretary Of State Investigating Voter Registration Group Run By Democrat Raphael Warnock\">law enforcement officers<\/a> were injured during the race riot outside the White House in May 2020 than on Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson emphasized that the immediate labeling of the protest as a racist, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fncs-carlson-its-time-for-the-democrats-to-accept-their-victory-forgive-the-team-they-beat-and-to-move-on-you-won-be-happy\/\" title=\"FNC's Carlson: It's Time for the Democrats to 'Accept Their Victory,' 'Forgive the Team They Beat and to Move On' -- 'You Won, Be Happy'\">white supremacist insurrection<\/a> was a lie. He argued that the individuals involved believed the election had been stolen from them, and while there is room for debate on the matter, race had nothing to do with their motivations.<\/p>\n<p>The strong reaction he received for questioning the media narrative surrounding Jan. 6 only fueled Carlson&#8217;s desire to dig deeper into the truth. However, he expressed his intention to interview Sund again in the future.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2022, Senator Ted Cruz questioned then-FBI Assistant Executive Director Jill Sanborn about the bureau&#8217;s potential involvement in the Capitol incursion.
