I was also sort of warned and prepared that this person\u2019s fan base might be encouraged to target me specifically.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bure, who rose to fame on the popular sitcom \u201cFull House\u201d and is known to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/7-country-singers-who-remain-unashamed-conservatives\/\" title=\"7 Country Singers Who Remain Unashamed Conservatives\">espouse conservative views<\/a>, responded to Benny\u2019s claims in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/candace-cameron-bure-shuts-down-claims-she-tried-get-miss-bennys-gay-character-fuller-house-fired\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> to Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never asked Miss Benny\u2019s character to be removed from \u2018Fuller House\u2019 and did not ask the writers, producers or studio executives to not have queer characters on the show,\u201d the 47-year-old actress said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Fuller House\u2019 has always welcomed a wide range of characters,\u201d she said. \u201cI thought Miss Benny did a great job as \u2018Casey\u2019 on the show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bure also addressed claims Benny made that \u201cdespite working on the show every day for two weeks straight \u2014 I have only had a conversation with one of the Tanner sisters.\u201d Considering that \u201cFuller House\u201d star Jodie Sweetin has become a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ community, many TikTok users assume Benny was voicing complaints against Bure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t share any scenes together, so we didn\u2019t get a chance to talk much while filming on set.
