According to Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett, Young opened fire in response to at least two gunmen who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-point-to-gun-legislation-as-justification-for-nuking-filibuster\/\" title=\"Democrats Point to Gun Legislation as Justification for Nuking Filibuster\">began shooting<\/a> at the establishment.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Based on the current status of the investigation, Mr. Young was not charged this morning,&#8221; a Thursday statement from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/19-year-old-arrested-in-calif-for-double-murder\/\" title=\"19-year-old arrested in Calif. for double murder\">district attorney&#8217;<\/a>s office read.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The decision does not constitute a dispositive ruling. Additional investigation and forensic analysis will continue. Mr. Young will be released from custody after processing out of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kansas-man-who-allegedly-fired-at-gunmen-in-nightclub-acted-in-self-defense-district-attorney-says\/\" title=\"DA: Kansas man who shot at nightclub gunmen acted in self-defense.\">adult detention facility<\/a> later this afternoon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Following the incident, which left nine people wounded and two others trampled, Young was initially taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated battery.<\/p>\n<h3>Video Surveillance Supports Self-Defense Claim<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Given the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/weaponizing-covid-to-promote-collectivism\/\" title=\"Weaponizing COVID to Promote Collectivism\">legitimate public concern<\/a> in this matter, a brief explanation as to the analysis regarding the evidence presented against Mr. Young this morning is appropriate,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;Video surveillance from inside the club was analyzed over the past several days. Based upon this detailed analysis, Mr. Young appears to have fired a weapon in response to shots fired by two different gunmen within the bar.
