Biden <\/em>revealed. And that should terrify everyone. That it doesn\u2019t is a scandal nearly as mammoth as the gross violations of the First Amendment detailed in the court\u2019s 150-plus-page opinion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Americans dedicated to our constitutional republic celebrated Independence Day with some icing on the cake when news broke that a federal court had enjoined large swaths of the Biden administration from coordinating with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ga-poll-watcher-it-expert-non-trump-supporter-affidavit-sudden-surge-of-20000-mail-in-votes-for-biden-in-early-hours-on-nov\/\" title=\"GA Poll Watcher, IT Expert, Non-Trump Supporter Affidavit: Sudden Surge of 20,000 Mail-In-Votes For Biden In Early Hours On Nov\">social media companies<\/a> to censor speech. Presiding Judge Terry Doughty\u2019s lengthy opinion proved a veritable treasure trove of details of the behind-the-scenes efforts by our government to silence dissenting voices. And his extensive exposition of First Amendment law and his accompanying analysis of the preliminary facts uncovered through limited discovery provided a solid basis for his ruling that the plaintiffs would likely prevail on their free speech claims that were premised on \u201cthe White House and numerous federal agencies, pressure[ing] and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-missouri-v-biden-judge-checks-government-power-because-corporate-media-wont\/\" title=\"Judge restrains government power in Missouri v. Biden as corporate media fails to do so.\">encourag[ing] social-media companies<\/a> to suppress free speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6238222\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-fadabda5bc63ea9466d782a8eee370aa fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-fadabda5bc63ea9466d782a8eee370aa\"><\/div>\n<p>Anyone who bothered to wade through the entirety of the opinion should be left shocked and outraged by what our federal overseers did: They targeted Americans and their speech and demanded censorship based on the content and viewpoints expressed \u2014 ones that contradicted the official government position.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, the speech censored was overwhelmingly conservative \u2014 a fact the court highlighted \u2014 but that should not matter. After all, as Judge Doughty stressed, \u201cthe right to free speech is not a member of any political party and does not hold any political ideology. It is the purpose of the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment to preserve an uninhibited marketplace of ideas in which truth will ultimately prevail\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, it did matter, however, for the outrage from the left centered not on the government\u2019s conduct, but on the judge\u2019s injunction. And left-wing sentiments seemed unaffected by our government seeking censorship of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2023\/07\/05\/injunction-biden-administration-social-media\/\">supposed<\/a> \u201cmedical misinformation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As The Washington Post\u2019s editorial board <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2023\/07\/05\/injunction-biden-administration-social-media\/\">reasoned<\/a>, if communicating threats to \u201cthe public safety or security of the United States\u201d to social media is permissible, why not also \u201cother threats?\u201d Why not warn social media companies about \u201cmedical misinformation during a public health emergency?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1dc781e92153d5cddc7ee7cac67c06c5 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1dc781e92153d5cddc7ee7cac67c06c5\"><\/div>\n<p>The answer is simple, and Judge Doughty put it simply: The Government \u201cdoes not have the right to determine the truth.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yet that is precisely the role our government took on during the Covid-19 pandemic, assuming \u201ca role similar to an Orwellian \u2018Ministry of Truth,\u2019\u201d Doughty said.<\/p>\n<p>One would think the supposed standard-bearers of journalism, especially one publishing under the \u201cDemocracy Dies in the Darkness\u201d banner, would get that. But no, the corporate press\u2019s position seems indistinguishable from the government\u2019s, which Doughty also synthesized simply.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile not admitting any fault in the suppression of free speech,\u201d the federal judge wrote in his Independence Day opinion, \u201cDefendants blame the Russians, COVID-19, and capitalism for any suppression of free speech by social-media companies.\u201d From the government\u2019s perspective, the court explained, it was merely \u201cpromot[ing] necessary and responsible actions to protect public health, safety, and security when confronted by a deadly pandemic and hostile foreign assaults on critical election infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f0cd9077f17f37aedc969c1a9416af1e fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f0cd9077f17f37aedc969c1a9416af1e\"><\/div>\n<p>But there will always be excuses to censor speech. \u201cIf human nature and history teaches anything, it is that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-another-federal-judge-deals-blow-to-bidens-vaccine-mandate-issues-nationwide-injunction\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Another Federal Judge Deals Blow To Biden\u2019s Vaccine Mandate, Issues Nationwide Injunction\">civil liberties face grave risks<\/a> when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cruz-no-pissant-politician-has-the-right-or-legal-authority-to-force-you-to-get-vaccinated\/\" title=\"Cruz: \u2018No Pissant Politician \u2026 Has The Right Or Legal Authority To Force You\u2019 To Get Vaccinated\">governments proclaim indefinite states<\/a> of emergency,\u201d Doughty wrote, quoting Justice Neil Gorsuch. The true \u201cgrave risk,\u201d though, is what the plaintiffs showed the government had done in pressuring Big Tech companies to censor their speech \u2014 what Doughty called \u201carguably the most massive attack against free speech in United States history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He is correct, but what our government did is only half of the scandal. Corporate media excusing the government\u2019s censorship is just as outrageous because, without the check on government provided by a free and open press, those silenced will be left with an insufficient remedy \u2014 a belated declaration that the government has violated its citizens\u2019 constitutional rights and an injunction barring a repeat of the censorship.<\/p>\n<p>The corrupt media refusing to condemn the Biden administration\u2019s censorship efforts has only emboldened the government, as seen by its immediate filing of its notice of appeal. On Thursday, the Biden administration also requested a stay of the injunction, to allow it to continue its efforts to have Americans\u2019 speech censored.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, it seems as if only conservative care. And that reality merits its own outrage.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4bd0d4ba0ff9d6b890425a7358542f5f fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4bd0d4ba0ff9d6b890425a7358542f5f\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Missouri v.
