Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has taken a stand for election integrity by introducing a new bill that would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mike-lee-garland-wouldnt-condemn-radical-positions-of-other-doj-nominees\/\" title=\"Mike Lee: Garland Wouldn\u2019t Condemn Radical Positions Of Other DOJ Nominees\">require voter identification<\/a> in Washington, D.C. This act, which was implemented over 20 years ago, established voting standards for state and local governments. If passed, Greene&#8217;s bill would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/marjorie-taylor-greene-wants-to-ban-illegal-immigrants-from-voting-in-dc-area\/\" title=\"Marjorie Taylor Greene seeks to prohibit undocumented immigrants from voting in DC region.\">establish photo identification requirements<\/a> for voting in D.C. elections and mandate proof of citizenship for voter registration.<\/p>\n<h3>Protecting American Elections<\/h3>\n<p>Greene emphasized the importance of ensuring that only American citizens have the right to vote in American elections. She stated, &#8220;That&#8217;s why I introduced the District of Columbia Voter Identification Act to safeguard election integrity by implementing mandatory photo voter ID and ensuring only American citizens are casting ballots by instituting a citizenship requirement for voter registration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Joining Greene in supporting this bill are Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) and Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL), who have co-sponsored the legislation. Greene believes that passing this bill will not only protect the integrity of D.C. elections but also set a precedent for the rest of the country to follow.<\/p>\n<h3>Addressing the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act<\/h3>\n<p>This bill is a response to the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2022, which was passed by the district council and sent to Congress earlier this year. This act would grant eligibility to illegal immigrants and legal noncitizens to vote in the Washington area. Greene&#8217;s legislation aims to counteract this by ensuring that only American citizens can participate in D.C. elections.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Sen.
