It was addressed to Brian Cornell, the Chairman and CEO of Target Corporation, and co-signed by Missouri AG Andrew Bailey, Mississippi AG Lynn Fitch, Arkansas AG Tim Griffin, Idaho AG Raul Labrador, Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron, and South Carolina AG Alan Wilson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAs Attorneys General committed to enforcing our States\u2019 child-protection and parental-rights laws and our States\u2019 economic interests as Target shareholders, we are concerned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chess-fide-shares-carlsens-concerns-about-the-damage-of-cheating-in-the-sport-2\/\" title=\"Chess-FIDE shares Carlsen\u2019s concerns about the damage of cheating in the sport\">recent events involving<\/a> the company\u2019s \u2018Pride\u2019 campaign,\u201d the letter begins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The letter goes on to say the officials are specifically concerned about the \u201cpromotion and sale of potentially harmful products to minors,\u201d as well as \u201cpotential interference with parental authority in matters of sex and gender identity\u201d and a \u201cpossible violation of fiduciary duties by the company\u2019s directors and officers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Products Highlighted in the Letter<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The letter specifically highlights several products sold by Target during Pride Month. The AGs claim the company \u201cwittingly marketed and sold LGBTQIA+ promotional products to families and young children as part of a comprehensive effort to promote gender and sexual identity among children.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A shirt that read \u201chomophobe headrest\u201d next to a picture of a guillotine<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A shirt that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/7-attorneys-general-sign-letter-blasting-target-for-pushing-pride-campaign-on-children\/\" title=\"7 AGs Slam Target for Promoting 'Pride Campaign' to Kids\">read \u201ctransphobe collector\u201d alongside<\/a> a picture of a skull<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A shirt that read \u201cwe bash back\u201d next to a mace that bore the colors of the transgender pride flag<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A product from the \u201cAbprallen\u201d brand that included the phrase \u201cSatan Respects Pronouns\u201d with a horned ram representing Baphomet<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Swimsuits with \u201ctuck-friendly construction\u201d and \u201cextra crotch coverage\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Concerns about Target&#8217;s Support of GLSEN<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The AGs also addressed Target\u2019s support of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cGLSEN furnishes resources to activists for the purpose of undermining parents\u2019 constitutional and statutory rights by supporting \u2018secret gender transitions for kids,\u2019\u201d the letter charges.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Alleged Negligence and Economic Impact<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The attorney generals note that Target\u2019s Pride campaign and support of GLSEN raises concerns \u201cunder our States\u2019 child-protection and parental-rights laws.\u201d But they also contend that the corporation\u2019s actions may have gone \u201cagainst our States\u2019 economic interests as Target shareholders.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c\u200b\u200bTarget\u2019s directors and officers may be negligent in undertaking the \u2018Pride\u2019 campaign, which negatively affected Target\u2019s stock price,\u201d the letter states before going on to note, \u201cit may have improperly directed company resources for collateral political or social goals unrelated to the company\u2019s and its shareholders\u2019 best interests.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDirectors and officers must act solely in the best interest of the company. But you have reportedly defended the campaign as \u201cthe right thing for society,\u201d the letter to Target Chairman and CEO Brian Cornell charges.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The company received severe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/target-loses-10-billion-in-just-ten-days-report\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">backlash<\/span><\/a> from would-be customers after dropping its Pride Month product lineup, resulting in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/targets-share-prices-plunge-for-longest-streak-in-almost-5-years\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">share prices dropping<\/span><\/a> for longest streak in nearly five years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cTransanity doesn\u2019t sell,\u201d Attorney General Rokita <a href=\"https:\/\/events.in.gov\/event\/attorney_general_todd_rokita_leads_7_states_concerned_about_targets_anti-child_anti-parent_campaign_for_lgbtqia_pride?utm_campaign=widget&#038;utm_medium=widget&#038;utm_source=State+of+Indiana\">said<\/a>. \u201cLet\u2019s all unite around pride in America instead of falling into the trap of dividing along lines of identity politics.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CEO of Target, and criticizes the company for promoting LGBTQIA+ products and gender identity to children.
