Wilcox, 58, is being investigated for violating three canons of the Code of Judicial Conduct after being caught using a fake identity to upload inappropriate TikTok videos.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>The three canons of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/groups\/professional_responsibility\/publications\/model_code_of_judicial_conduct\/\" target=\"_blank\">Code of Judicial Conduct<\/a> cited include: requires judges to observe high standards of conduct, avoid the appearance of impropriety, and conduct their \u201cextrajudicial activities in a manner that would not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/celebrity-chef-mario-batali-acquitted-of-metoo-era-sexual-misconduct-charges\/\" title=\"Celebrity Chef Mario Batali Acquitted Of #MeToo Era Sexual Misconduct Charges\">cast reasonable doubt<\/a> on the judge\u2019s capacity to act impartially as a judge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the five-page complaint submitted on Friday from the Supreme Court of New Jersey Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct, it is alleged that the New Jersey judge had posted around 40 videos between April 11, 2021, and March 4<sup>th<\/sup>, 2023 with profanity-laced lyrics and references to violence, sex, and misogyny, under the pseudonym \u201cSal Tortorella.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is argued that several of the films are questionable due to their subject matter, the setting for the filming\u2014which included the judge\u2019s chambers, the courtroom, and a bed\u2014or Wilcox\u2019s clothing, which included him \u201cwearing his judicial robes and\/or partially dressed while lying in bed.\u201d As a result of Wilcox not having posted in a private setting but rather a public one, his posts had breached judicial standards and damaged public trust in the justice system.<\/p>\n<p>The complains claimed that Wilcox had \u201cexhibited poor judgment and demonstrated disrespect for the Judiciary and an inability to conform to the high standards of conduct expected of judges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In one of the videos, as Nas\u2019 song \u201cGet Down\u201d was played, Wilcox went through the courthouse sporting a \u201cBeavis and Butt-Head\u201d T-shirt. According to the complaint, the song included allusions to executing a doctor who treated a gang member and had offensive lyrics and gang and drug references.<\/p>\n<p>Wilcox is a graduate from Harvard Law School and began practicing law in 1989. in 2011, Wilcox was appointed to the bench as a family court judge by then-Republican Governor Chris Christie, after serving as a federal prosecutor.
