Version: 4.0.47--><h2>A Controversial Proposal: Eliminating Child Support Debt for Black Parents<\/h2>\n<p>A California leftist task force is eyeing a reparations proposal that would give deadbeat parents of one race a means to avoid their paying their child support bill.<\/p>\n<p>The California Reparations Task Force asked the state legislature to eliminate back-owed child support and the associated interest in a <a href=\"https:\/\/oag.ca.gov\/system\/files\/media\/full-ca-reparations.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1,100 page report<\/a> this week, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/california-reparations-task-force-eliminating-child-support-debt-black-residents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/california-assembly-passes-reparations-bill-moves-state-one-step-closer-race-based-payments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leftist task force<\/a> reserved the request for the black residents of the state.<\/p>\n<h3>A Bold Recommendation<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThe Task Force recommends that the Legislature enact legislation to terminate all interest accrued on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/2018-email-hunter-biden-demanded-beau-bidens-widow-get-tested-for-hiv\/\" title=\"2018 Email: Hunter Biden Demanded Beau Biden\u2019s Widow Get Tested for HIV\">back child support<\/a>, requiring only the payment of the principal owed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt a minimum, the proposal recommends that the Legislature eliminate the prospective accrual of interest on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-illogical-child-support-rules-can-force-kids-into-poverty\/\" title=\"How Illogical Child Support Rules Can Force Kids Into Poverty\">child support debt<\/a> for low-income parents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The entity cited the \u201cdisproportionate amount of African Americans who are burdened with child support debt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The task force further recommended that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/city-homeless-documentary-breaks-societal-decay-blighting-los-angeles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California<\/a> law allow for forgiveness of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-cashes-in-with-book-deal-as-career-prospects-dwindle-child-support-payments-mount\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Cashes In with Book Deal as Career Prospects Dwindle, Child Support Payments Mount\">child support payments<\/a> on the basis of a debtor\u2019s lacking financial means.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Task Force further recommends that the Legislature amend Family Code section 17560, the \u2018offers in compromise\u2019 provision, to allow for offers in compromise and forgiveness of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/revealed-major-free-pass-for-deadbeat-parents-included-in-newsoms-controversial-reparations-task-force-report\/\" title=\"Newsom's Reparations Task Force Report Includes Significant Benefit for Neglectful Parents.\">child support debt based solely<\/a> on a parent\u2019s fnancial (sic) circumstances and ability to pay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>California taxpayers would be burdened with the costs of unpaid child support payments under the arrangement.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no indication that the expensive handout to absent parents is slated to become state law.<\/p>\n<p>The report is being delivered as advice to the state legislature.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/california-reparation-task-force-issues-new-demand-state-must-apologize-ronald-reagan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">task force<\/a> itself has no power to enact leftist benefit programs on the basis of race.<\/p>\n<p>The body provided more than 100 policy recommendations to the legislature, according to CBS News.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">California is a step closer to giving reparations to millions of Black residents descended from enslaved people, as a state task force presented more than 100 recommendations to legislators last week after more than two years of research and public hearings. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/36NaOM4u4E\">pic.twitter.com\/36NaOM4u4E<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CBS Mornings (@CBSMornings) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSMornings\/status\/1675857659004702720?\">July 3, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>One attorney involved in the report\u2019s commission described it as a \u201cbook of truth\u201d in a news conference at the state legislature in Sacramento last week.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cThis is a book of truth,\u201d Lisa Holder said while holding the final CA Reparations Task Force report, that now heads to state lawmakers.
