Additionally, 56 percent of respondents said they would be denied a mortgage if they applied for one now.<\/p>\n<p>Adena Hefets, co-founder and CEO of Divvy Homes, expressed concern about the challenges facing potential homebuyers. She stated, &#8220;There are so many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-america-40-believe-winning-lottery-is-best-chance-to-buy-a-home-poll-reveals\/\" title=\"Poll: 40% in Biden's America Rely on Lottery to Buy Homes\">factors putting downward pressure<\/a> on a potential homeowner&#8217;s buying power&#8230; that the starter home seems to be on the verge of extinction.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The survey revealed that respondents believe they would need to earn an average of $76,000 per year and have at least $45,000 in savings for a down payment in order to afford a starter home. Forty-four percent of those surveyed said they would be willing to take on a second job or have a side gig to afford a home.<\/p>\n<p>Home affordability is declining, with major homeownership expenses consuming about a third of a family&#8217;s monthly income on average.
