The ruling came after the Biden administration was accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lefts-reaction-to-biden-admin-social-media-case-shows-their-true-position-on-free-speech-ben-shapiro-says\/\" title=\"Ben Shapiro claims that the left's response to the Biden administration's social media case reveals their stance on free speech.\">pressuring social media officials<\/a> to take down or limit the reach of posts they deemed to be misinformation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cBut this sort of stuff doesn\u2019t bother the Left whatsoever,\u201d Shapiro said, summarizing the Left\u2019s stance on free speech. \u201cAgain, because the principles of freedom of speech are mere platforms. They\u2019re not actual principles that are worthy of being upheld. So the question on whether you believe in a principle is whether when your opponents exercise it you believe that the principle should no longer apply.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He added that many on the Left only supported free speech if it allowed them to gain power.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI\u2019ve never called, for example, for the deplatforming of people who explicitly attack me on social media, because that\u2019s their prerogative. This is the United States. The Left [recognizes] no such prerogative. The Left doesn\u2019t believe that,\u201d The Daily Wire co-founder said. \u201cThe Left believes that free speech is merely a tool of power. So when they control it, free speech is good and when they don\u2019t control it, free speech is very, very bad.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">U.S. District Court Judge Terry Doughty wrote in his decision that the efforts by the Biden administration to restrict posts during the pandemic were Orwellian. The ruling came after Missouri and Louisiana filed a lawsuit against the administration, accusing it of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-dnc-biden-allies-pushing-sms-carriers-to-crack-down-on-vaccine-misinformation-spread-through-private-messages\/\" title=\"Report: DNC, Biden Allies Pushing SMS Carriers To Crack Down On Vaccine \u2018Misinformation\u2019 Spread Through Private Messages\">pushing social media companies<\/a> to censor content related to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, a period perhaps best characterized by widespread doubt and uncertainty, the United States Government seems to have assumed a role similar to an Orwellian \u2018Ministry of Truth,\u2019\u201d Doughty <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/judge-limits-biden-administration-contact-180939384.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">wrote<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The judge <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.lawd.189520\/gov.uscourts.lawd.189520.293.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> that opposition to COVID vaccines, opposition to masking, criticism of the 2020 election, true statements about the Hunter Biden laptop, and opposition to other government policies were all \u201csuppressed\u201d by the government.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt is quite telling that each example or category of suppressed speech was conservative in nature.
