But from a manager point of view, the signature counts for me as a signature for today. They also work to keep the amendment\u2019s language vague in an attempt to disguise some of its radical implications.<\/p>\n<p>Groups like Ohioans for Reproductive Freedom \u2014 a coalition of eight pro-abortion and LGBT groups \u2014 and Ohio Physicians for Reproductive Rights, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news5cleveland.com\/news\/politics\/ohio-politics\/fact-check-ohio-abortion-amendment-says-nothing-about-transgender-or-parental-rights-contrary-to-ads-claims\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">help from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/facebook-wiped-a-conservative-wisconsin-news-page-after-wrongfully-censoring-it-for-months\/\" title=\"Facebook Wiped A Conservative Wisconsin News Page After Wrongfully Censoring It For Months\">fake \u201cfact-checkers<\/a>,\u201d<\/a> insist that the amendment \u201csays nothing about transgender or parental rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even out-of-state petitioners hired by Planned Parenthood, who originally tried to claim that the amendment will simply move current laws from \u201csix weeks to 12 weeks\u201d confirmed there was \u201cno age limit\u201d to abortions and that a \u201cchild can go have an abortion without her parents knowing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s for everybody\u2019s reproductive rights,\u201d one canvasser said.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>\ud83d\udea8BREAKING: Live footage leaked of out of state Planned Parenthood workers gathering signatures AND confirming to signers what they\u2019re denying to the general public\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026.That this amendment is about helping MINORS get abortions WITHOUT parental consent.\ud83d\udd3d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5R9vIVu3Kq\">pic.twitter.com\/5R9vIVu3Kq<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<footer>Protect Women Ohio (@ProtectWomenOH) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ProtectWomenOH\/status\/1656288294689206274?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 10, 2023<\/a><\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<h3>Implications for Parental Consent Laws<\/h3>\n<p>An attorney for ACLU of Ohio, one of the biggest backers of this specific proposal, similarly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statenews.org\/government-politics\/2023-03-15\/foes-of-planned-ohio-abortion-amendment-launch-effort-to-discourage-voters-from-signing-petitions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">confessed in February<\/a> that, if the constitutional amendment passes, laws requiring parents to sign off on abortions and mutilation for their teen daughter would not necessarily be enforced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you pass a constitutional amendment, it doesn\u2019t just automatically erase everything and start over. We should not allow for the isolating of children from their parents as they walk through life-impacting medical decisions, while third parties-including abusers and traffickers-are protected and encouraged as is being demonstrated when such amendments are being utilized in other states,\u201d Vivina Napier, a Columbus-based OB\/GYN said in a statement. \u201cThis ballot initiative would permit gruesome late-term abortions in our state as well as exclude parents from participating in their children\u2019s life-altering healthcare decisions.
