Governor Breaks His Own COVID Rules To Eat Fancy French Food\">ice cream<\/a>, up 9 percent; processed cheese, up 10 percent; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/san-franciscos-mr-clean-disgraced-ex-public-official-arrested-for-allegedly-trying-to-rob-someone-at-knifepoint\/\" title=\"San Francisco\u2019s \u2018Mr. Clean,\u2019 Disgraced Ex-Public Official, Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Rob Someone At Knifepoint\">potato chips<\/a>, up 15 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, chicken breast is down 2 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Average per-person spending on July 4th rose to $93.34 in 2023, which is up $9.22 from last year\u2019s $84.12, according to a<a href=\"https:\/\/nrf.com\/research-insights\/holiday-data-and-trends\/independence-day\/independence-day-data-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> National Retail Federation<\/a> survey.<\/p>\n<p>Biden and the Democrats have to take a good part of the blame for the nation\u2019s high inflation.<\/p>\n<p>Now that Republicans have taken over the House of Representatives, curtailing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/reagan-economist-takes-presidents-claims-bidenomics-numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bidenomics spending frenzy<\/a>, inflation is back down to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/06\/13\/cpi-inflation-report-may-2023-.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">4 percent<\/a>, which is still much higher than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/archives\/cpi_02102021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1.4 percent<\/a> it was under President Donald Trump when he left office in January 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Experts said there were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/inflation-definition-cause-what-is-it-11644353564\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">multiple reasons<\/a> for the inflation rate hitting a forty-year high last year, but the unprecedented level of government deficit spending was definitely a contributing factor.<\/p>\n<p>In a February 2021 Washington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2021\/02\/04\/larry-summers-biden-covid-stimulus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opinion piece<\/a>, former Clinton administration Treasury Secretary Larry Summers predicted that passing the $1.9 trillion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trumps-top-economic-advisor-lays-exact-causes-inflation-biden-falsely-blaming-others\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Rescue Plan<\/a>, given the economy was already well into a recovery, \u201cwill set off inflationary pressures of a kind we have not seen in a generation, with consequences for the value of the dollar and financial stability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After it passed the following month, the Summers <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/finance\/544188-larry-summers-blasts-least-responsible-economic-policy-in-40-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called it<\/a> \u201cthe least responsible macroeconomic policy we\u2019ve had in the last 40 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a November 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/11\/16\/opinion\/biden-inflation-spending-manchin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piece<\/a> for The New York Times, former Obama administration Treasury Department official Steven Rattner identified the American Rescue Plan as the \u201coriginal sin\u201d leading to the record high inflation by the summer of 2022..<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The Democrats] can\u2019t say they weren\u2019t warned \u2014 notably by Larry Summers, a former Treasury secretary and my former boss in the Obama administration, and less notably by many others, including me,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe worried that shoveling an unprecedented amount of spending into an economy already on the road to recovery would mean too much money chasing too few goods,\u201d Rattner explained.<\/p>\n<p>Larry Kudlow, who was Trump\u2019s top economist in addition to working in the Reagan administration, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/reagan-economist-takes-presidents-claims-bidenomics-numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noted<\/a> on his Fox Business program last week, \u201cAfter Joe Biden\u2019s $2 trillion American Rescue Plan, which was his landmark policy, a 6.5 percent [GDP growth] economy delivered by Donald Trump sputtered to a 1 percent growth rate in Biden\u2019s first full year, 2022 and early 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd after Trump hand-delivered a 1.4 percent inflation rate, under Bidenomics, it soared to a 9 percent inflation rate, which destroyed family affordability and worker income,\u201d the Fox Business host said.<\/p>\n<p>And the hits kept on coming under Biden when he and primarily the Democrats passed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/11\/15\/1055841358\/biden-signs-1t-bipartisan-infrastructure-bill-into-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$1.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/massive-expansion-of-government-no-2-senate-republican-blasts-bidens-2-trillion-infrastructure-plan\/\" title=\"\u2018Massive Expansion Of Government\u2019: No. 2 Senate Republican Blasts Biden\u2019s  Trillion Infrastructure Plan\">2 trillion infrastructure bill<\/a><\/a> in November 2021, followed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-business-school-finds-democrats-inflation-reduction-act-increase-inflation-24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">misnamed<\/a> $485 billion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crfb.org\/blogs\/whats-inflation-reduction-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inflation Reduction Act<\/a> in August 2022.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re wondering why your Fourth
