It was a disappointing weekend at the domestic box office overall, with \u201cRuby Gillman, Teenage Kraken,\u201d earning just $5.2 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DC superhero movie \u201cThe Flash\u201d came in number 8 during its third weekend in theaters with $5 million, representing a 67% drop in revenue from the previous two weekends. That film earned just shy of $100 million overall with $99.2 million in total ticket sales so far, per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/film\/news\/box-office-indiana-jones-5-opening-weekend-disappointment-1235660071\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Variety<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny\u201d stars <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/harrison-ford\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Harrison Ford<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in what\u2019s believed to be the final installment of the legendary franchise. To compare, this \u201cIndiana Jones\u201d didn\u2019t come close to the results of the last film\u2019s debut, \u201cKingdom of the Crystal Skull,\u201d which boasted a $100 million opening weekend in 2008.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThis is a weak opening,\u201d David A. Gross of the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research said of the opening numbers. \u201cMost action-adventure series finish by episode five and that\u2019s happening here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/exhausting-slog-glaringly-fake-critics-shred-disneys-indiana-jones-5\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Poor reviews<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of the film haven\u2019t helped matters. The Rolling Stone review said of \u201cIndiana Jones 5,\u201d \u201c[Y]ou either die an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exhausting-slog-glaringly-fake-critics-shred-disneys-indiana-jones-5\/\" title=\"Critics slam Disney's 'Indiana Jones 5' as a fake and tiring movie.\">intellectual-property hero trapped<\/a> in amber, or you live long enough to see yourself riding a fake horse against a green-screened subway background when most of your peers have slowed down.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c[O]ne can feel the four credited screenwriters grasping at inspiration and coming up short. What they did manage to make would be perfectly fine as a standalone adventure film starring some other character, but it\u2019s not worthy of the whip,\u201d Vanity Fair critic Richard Lawson wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Many moviegoers questioned how realistic it was to have Ford, 80, still playing an action star.
