Inflation remained twice as high as the Federal Reserve\u2019s target in May, according to a Labor Statistics report, and the price of energy and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/inflation-leaves-americans-paying-record-amount-just-to-secure-food-for-july-4-cookouts\/\" title=\"Inflation forces Americans to pay more for July 4 cookout food.\">food increased 4 percent<\/a> on an annual basis last month.<\/p>\n<p data-inc=\"3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/white-house-post-graph-bragging-inflation-going-completely-blows-face\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inflation<\/a> hit 9.1 percent in June 2022, its highest point since 1982, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/opub\/ted\/2022\/consumer-price-index-unchanged-over-the-month-up-8-5-percent-over-the-year-in-july-2022.htm#:~:text=SUBSCRIBE-,Consumer%20Price%20Index%20unchanged%20over%20the%20month%2C%20up%208.5%20percent,the%20year%2C%20in%20July%202022&#038;text=The%20Consumer%20Price%20Index%20for,and%201.0%20percent%20in%20May.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BLS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From 2014 to 2020 the cost of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/shapiro-couldnt-nice-independence-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Independence Day<\/a> food for one person rose from $68.16 to $76.49, and the rate of cost increase picked up considerably after President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nbc-poll-spells-doom-joe-biden-one-major-roadblock-standing-way\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> took office in 2021.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Planning a cookout this year?
