Progs really are socially insufferable, and Amy just nails it.<\/p>\n<p>Uncle Dave is a hero.<\/p>\n<p>Ask Amy: We told him not to come to the wedding, but we still wanted his money <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/u3ccByBGbA\">https:\/\/t.co\/u3ccByBGbA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 FunkyPox (@corrcomm) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/corrcomm\/status\/1675155786001969152?\">July 1, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>In the letter, signed by \u201cAngry in Philadelphia,\u201d a woman described how her daughter decided against inviting \u201cUncle Dave\u201d to her wedding because the old boy\u2019s politics would \u201cmake her feel unsafe\u201d at the wedding celebration.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cMy daughter is very politically progressive, as are many of her friends,\u201d the mother wrote, \u201cand although she and Dave have always had a good relationship (I thought), he is a conservative voter and has supported candidates we all abhor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At her daughter\u2019s request, \u201cAngry\u201d wrote her brother a note to tell him he would not be invited \u2014 he didn\u2019t respond or attend the wedding.<\/p>\n<p>She then sent him pictures from the occasion, \u201call in an effort to make him feel like he was not being totally left out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ah, it must have been great for Uncle Dave to know he wasn\u2019t being <em>totally<\/em> left out \u2014 just left out enough to know that his physical company was not welcome at one of the milestone events in any family.<\/p>\n<p>But that isn\u2019t why \u201cAngry\u201d was writing to be asking Amy. She was angry because Uncle Dave hadn\u2019t come across with his usual $1,000 or more gift for the happy couple.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy husband says I should drop it \u2013 but I can\u2019t. Dave\u2019s behavior is upsetting and embarrassing to me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow can I get my brother to recognize and change his petty behavior?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease don\u2019t tell me that I\u2019m the one who started this by not inviting my brother to the wedding. After all, he\u2019s a grown man, while my daughter is young and just starting out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It seems like most individuals with a sense of propriety, respect for others, or even a modicum of intelligence would probably have figured out Uncle Dave wouldn\u2019t be sending a check any time soon \u2014 but \u201cAngry\u201d is clearly lacking in all three. (It\u2019s also a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-lawyer-bruce-castor-impeachment-managers-presented-nothing-new\/\" title=\"Trump Lawyer Bruce Castor: Impeachment Managers Presented Nothing New\">pretty good bet<\/a> that the pictures she sent as a gesture of goodwill were probably aimed at Uncle Dave\u2019s checkbook as much as his sensitive feelings.)<\/p>\n<p>For what it\u2019s worth, Amy set her straight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn short: Brides who are too afraid of family members to invite them to a family wedding don\u2019t then get the pleasure of receiving their money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou seem almost as afraid of your daughter as she is of your brother, but I hope you\u2019ll find a way to courageously tell her that the Bank of Uncle Dave is closed, at least to your branch of the family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, your silent brother is the only family member who is behaving appropriately. This country has been awash in them for years. (And that very much includes Philadelphia, a Democratic machine city with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/two-boys-ages-10-14-questioned-beating-death-senior-citizen-dem-run-paradise-soros-da\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">district attorney<\/a> paid for by billionaire George Soros and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/determined-embattled-blue-collar-philadelphians-band-together-take-back-neighborhood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">inevitable, chaotic crime problem<\/a> that combination produces.)<\/p>\n<p>The progressive sense of entitlement is bottomless \u2014 demonstrated by President Joe Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/scotus-rules-400b-student-debt-cancellation-plan-bad-news-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blatantly unconstitutional bid<\/a> to wipe out student loans (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/democrats-pressure-biden-cancel-student-loans-after-supreme-court-ruling-1810229\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democratic response<\/a> to the Supreme Court\u2019s decision Friday that that wasn\u2019t going to fly).<\/p>\n<p>And the bottom line is they always expect Uncle Dave to be insulted with impunity and still fork over the cash to pay for it all.
