Their first time visiting their Capitol and then they have this disappointment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe shrugged her shoulders, saying, \u2018They sounded beautiful, but \u2026 They can go outside and sing,\u201d he recounted.<\/p>\n<p>According to Rasbach, the female officer went on to claim that multiple people had complained about the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/patriotic-restaurant-owner-message-leftists-dont-like-national-anthem-tradition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">offensiveness<\/a>\u00a0of the anthem.<\/p>\n<p>Rasbach explained to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/06\/02\/exclusive-childrens-choir-director-responds-capitol-police-claim-they-did-not-stop-kids-singing-national-anthem\/?utm_source=PANTHEON_STRIPPED&#038;utm_medium=PANTHEON_STRIPPED&#038;utm_campaign=PANTHEON_STRIPPED\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Signal<\/a> that the choir was given permission to sing in the Capitol by Reps. We apologize to the choir for this miscommunication that impacted their beautiful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner and their visit to Capitol Hill,\u201d Capitol Police later said in a statement, according to radio host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toddstarnes.com\/faith\/children-banned-from-singing-national-anthem-in-us-capitol-perform-at-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Todd Starnes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, as far as Republican Rep. Wilson was concerned, once was enough.<\/p>\n<p>Along with fellow Republican Reps. Timmons, Russell Fry, Nancy Mace, Ralph Norman and Jeff Duncan, he introduced legislation that would ban and regulation that prohibits singing the national anthem in the Capitol, barring any interference with government operations, according to a release <a href=\"https:\/\/joewilson.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/wilson-leads-south-carolina-house-colleagues-introducing-let-freedom-sing-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on his website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2019The Star-Spangled Banner\u2019 symbolizes the hopes and dreams of our nation, earned through a history of blood, sweat, and tears, so that Americans may be free. Democracy is not easy, but expressing love of our country by singing our national anthem should be easy, particularly in the nation\u2019s Capitol building.
