And, if its dismal opening day numbers hold, \u201cDial\u201d will become of one the lowest-earning Indy flicks of the pack.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/film\/box-office\/indiana-jones-5-opening-day-dial-of-destiny-1235659612\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a>, \u201cDial\u201d only earned $7.2 million in ticket sales during its Thursday previews and another $16.8 million on Friday. This is not a stellar performance, especially when comparing it to Warner\u2019s \u201cThe Flash\u201d which earned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/the-flash-thursday-box-office-ezra-miller\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$9.7 million<\/a> for its Thursday previews, and \u201cFlash\u201d is being considered a failure.<\/p>\n<p>This puts \u201cDial\u201d as the lowest-earning Indy film yet on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxofficemojo.com\/franchise\/fr3209137925\/?sort=openingWeekendGross&#038;ref_=bo_fr__resort#table\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opening weekend<\/a> for modern-day film openings. The fourth film, \u201cKingdom of the Crystal Skull,\u201d earned more than $100 million and it is generally considered the worst of the bunch.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the original and its sequel, which earned $8.30 million and $25.33 million respectively on opening day, came out in 1981 and 1984, and the 80s was a far different time for movie finances, so it isn\u2019t really proper to compare the two (and adjusted for inflation, they are both north of $143 million, anyway). Especially considering the original went on to make more than $250 million on a mere $18 million budget. Regardless, \u201cDial\u201d is coming up way short.<\/p>\n<p>If projections hold and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/report-disney-lost-quarter-billion-dollars-two-woke-failures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disney\u2019s<\/a> \u201cDial\u201d doesn\u2019t all of a sudden catch fire, that means the film will only earn about $60 million for its opening weekend, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/07\/box-office-indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny-1235427644\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deadline<\/a> reported. And that, folks, is a crushing defeat for Disney, especially considering that the film cost nearly $300 million to make, distribute and advertise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDial\u201d has already had stiff headwinds ahead of its opening. As Deadline noted, it earned lackluster reviews when Disney debuted it at the Cannes Film Festival this year and it has been dogged by low approval ratings on nearly every ratings board ever since. What a disaster for ultra-woke Disney, a studio that has already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disney-bleeding-big-time-much-money-company-lost-last-year-financial-analyst\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lost nearly $900 million<\/a> over its last eight-box office bombs.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Angel Studios seems to have a guaranteed hit on its hands with the Jim Caviezel-starring action picture, \u201cSound Of Freedom,\u201d a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hollywood-film-director-cant-forget-familys-escape-from-castros-cuba\/\" title=\"Hollywood Film Director Can\u2019t Forget Family\u2019s Escape from Castro\u2019s Cuba\">faith-based movie<\/a> following the efforts of Tim Ballard, a U.S. Homeland Security agent who went on a crusade to save trafficked children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSound\u201d won\u2019t open until Tuesday, but the film already has racked up more than $7.2 million in ticket pre-sales, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/06\/jim-caviezel-box-office-sound-of-freedom-angel-studios-1235428099\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Angel Studios was the team behind Easter\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biblical-film-abraham-isaac-makes-history-award-event-praise-lord\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">standout film<\/a> \u201cHis Only Son,\u201d which was about the prophet Abraham, and opened to $5.5M with a more than $12 million domestic box office.<\/p>\n<p>The studio set a goal of selling two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disney-projected-to-have-worst-flop-of-the-year-while-faith-based-film-is-zooming-past-expectations\/\" title=\"Disney's anticipated film predicted to be biggest flop of the year, while faith-based movie exceeds all expectations.\">million pre-sale tickets ahead<\/a> of its Tuesday, July 4 opening, and as of the publication of this story, they have already hit more than 869,000, according to its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.angel.com\/tickets\/sound-of-freedom?variation=july_3&#038;zip=91355&#038;date=2023-07-03\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">running tracker<\/a>. And those sales are soaring minute by minute, the tracker shows.<\/p>\n<p>Angel Studios\u2019 upcoming film is not an outlier, either. Moviegoers may also remember that Lionsgate had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jesus-revolution-set-home-digital-release-taking-50-million-box-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">surprise hit<\/a> on its hands earlier this year with \u201cThe Jesus Revolution,\u201d a faith-based film that opened with a $15.8 million weekend box office, and earned an amazing $51 million for its theatrical run, easily paying off its $15 million budget.<\/p>\n<p>Will Hollywood learn that people are sick and tired of the woke garbage that studios are throwing at them?
