California fraudster is headed for the slammer after a green energy Ponzi scheme in which investors were swindled out of millions of dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Ray Brewer was sentenced to six years and nine months in prison on Monday, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-edca\/pr\/central-valley-man-sentenced-over-6-years-prison-9-million-cow-manure-ponzi-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Justice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brewer sold wealthy investors on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-former-connecticut-lawmaker-sentenced-coronavirus-aid-thefts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sham business<\/a> in which he supposedly built anaerobic digesters at dairy farms with the capacity to use \u201cmicroorganisms to break down biodegradable material and turn it into methane,\u201d according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/06\/28\/california-man-ray-brewer-sentenced-for-duping-investors-in-ponzi-scheme-claiming-to-turn-cow-manure-into-green-energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brewer was even featured in a 2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/archives\/la-xpm-2013-jun-07-la-fi-dairy-digester-20130609-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Los Angeles Times<\/a> profile of businesses involved in recycling manure.<\/p>\n<p>Even then, a decade ago, legitimate dairy farmers expressed doubts about Brewer\u2019s get-rich-quick scheme in the Times piece.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTalk about apprehensive,\u201d Brewer said of one farmer in the profile.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cThat was a little bit of an understatement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fraudster used a wide range of manufactured documents and forged lease agreements to make it look like his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-admin-spend-nearly-1-billion-turning-federal-buildings-green\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">environmental<\/a> business was legitimate, according lenders.<\/p>\n<p>The California man subsequently used funds obtained from newly tricked investors to pay off his suspicious creditors \u2014 a classic hallmark of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investor.gov\/protect-your-investments\/fraud\/types-fraud\/ponzi-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ponzi scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Other funds obtained from investors were used to purchase Dodge Ram trucks, two large plots of land, and a 3,700 square foot customized home.<\/p>\n<p>After Brewer\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/con-man-dupes-green-energy-investors-in-novel-scheme-that-was-literally-pure-bull\/\" title=\"Con artist scams green energy investors with a bogus scheme involving pure bull.\">victims obtained civil court judgements<\/a> against him, he attempted to assume a new identity in Montana to evade repayment.<\/p>\n<p>But the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/environmentalists-furious-bidens-intrusive-new-green-initiative-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fraudster<\/a> wasn\u2019t quite done, even after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/authorities-seize-more-than-1-billion-worth-of-illegal-pot-in-the-desert\/\" title=\"Authorities Seize More Than  Billion Worth Of Illegal Pot In The Desert\">law enforcement arrested<\/a> him.<\/p>\n<p>The green energy swindler falsely claimed to be a Navy veteran who saved other service members during a dangerous fire \u2014 a tall tale he subsequently admitted was a lie invented to curry special treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The proceeds of Brewer\u2019s fraud amounted to nearly $9 million, according to federal prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>Brewer plead guilty to 24 federal charges in February, according to <a
